In a brief press conference this afternoon, Victorian Coach Greg Shipperd announced that Ian Harvey will be leaving the Bushrangers through injury and that national icon Shane Warne is also likely to miss the majority of the season. "It's a huge blow to us to loose two seasoned champions like that, we have a fairly young squad and there experience and leadership would have be pricless for a younger squad members" said Shipperd in a brief statement. When question by reporters about the kind of injuries the players suffered and how they came about Shipperd replied "they are bad injuries and i can not give any further comment".

Sources close to the Bushrangers believe the incident involved four female Gymnasts, a mobile phone, some fresh produce and a ping pong paddle.

South Australia
v
Victoria
at the Adelaide Oval

Welcome to the Adelaide oval for the Pura Cup clash between South Australia and Victoria. The Bushrangers were handed a serious set back earlier in the week loosing Ian Harvey for the year and Warne for the majority of it. Bith team will be looking to establish themselves early and gain some confidence.

We have excellent aussie weather here today with not a cloud in the sky, it around 28 degrees so the players will need there sun screen.
The pitch appears to be an absolute belter, flat hard and not many cracks at all. This is one toss you want to win as a skipper.

South Australia Slaughter Vic

The Redbacks have smacked the bushranger from pillar to post here at the Adelaide Oval Scoring a massive 2/422 dec. The heros for the home side was captain Darren Lehamann who sent a loud and clear message to National selector as he reach a massive 217 no. Lehmann was supported brilliantly by former Australian test player Greg Blewett who also scored a unbeaten hundred.

The Vics had there tail up early on the first day after Shane Harwood knocked over Redbacks opening Deitz cheaply. The Bushrangers mood soon turned sourer as former team mate Matt Elliott made the pay for wayward bowling racing the a half century in the first session of the day.

After lunch Mick Lewis trapped Elliott infront for 58, this brought Blewett and Lehmann together who never took a backward step. Lehmann calling the Redbacks innings to a close just after midday on day two.

Roberts View
Start the warm up on day one with a early morning spew through nerves, he quickly settled in after the Bushrangers claimed an early wicket. As the Lehmann and Blewett partnership kick on down went the young mans confidence. This is understandable though as no one like chasing leather all day in the australian sun (not unless a hot young bird is wearing it as a G bo).
Roberts will need to pick up his mental state before he heads out into the middle.
