A bit of a disappointment for Adelaide as their Test stars failed to even make a fifty, although David Warner and Jon Wells came close. That was largely due to Josh Hazlewood whose stellar tournament continued, removing Wells, Bancroft, Head and a surprisingly stubborn Tom Rogers.
A big ton from Matt Wade put Perth thoroughly in control of this game. Wade made 141 and, with assistance from Whiteman, Marsh and Inglis, really took the game away from Adelaide. To give credit to the SA quicks, they did show good fight, with Tom Rogers continuing a good personal game by taking four wickets.
Travis Head played a nice knock, taking up nearly 200 balls on his way to 65. But nobody else stood up, meaning Adelaide fell over in a heap, setting Perth just 68 to win. Xavier Bartlett and Mitch Marsh took three wickets each, showing Perth's bowling depth.
Losing two early wickets thanks to James Pattinson and Chris Tremain wasn't ideal for Perth. But centurion Matt Wade saw them home with Peter Handscomb.

Hobart's first innings was full of contributors, but would have been considerably better had one kicked on. Marcus Harris top scored with a gritty 65, while Shaun Marsh and Usman Khawaja played loose shots when they should have carried on. Peter Siddle was by far the best bowler for Melbourne, as he bowled 30 overs for the incredible figures of 3/36.
After a truly terrible start where Pat Cummins and Michael Hogan took two wickets from the first nine balls, Melbourne rebounded to only be 42 behind after the first innings. That was largely thanks to 85 from Glenn Maxwell as well as some assistance from Nic Maddinson and Cam Green. Hogan pressed on to take three more wickets - indeed, him getting Siddle and Harry Nielsen in the same over was a key reason why Hobart had a lead.
The second innings was dominated by youngsters. With the bat, Dan Solway top scored with 84, while Marsh and Khawaja scored their second fifty of the game and they arguably should have been joined by Ben McDermott, who was run out for 44. Three bowlers took two wickets, but the one who bowled the best was Mitch Perry - additionally, getting Shaun Marsh must be a highlight of the young man's career so far!
Melbourne showed some pluck in trying to take the game deep, but another poor top order performance as well as losing wickets in clumps thrice meant this was a fairly easy win for Hobart. Michael Hogan also got to have more time in the sun - five wickets, including the key one of Glenn Maxwell (dismissal not pictured) meant he finished with nine for the game.

A collapse towards the end took the shine off a good innings to that point for NT, with Darcy Short and Tom Andrews passing fifty. Jhye Richardson was the key cog for Sydney as he took a five-for, with ample assistance from Nathan Lyon.
Despite the best efforts of Josh Philippe, Sydney couldn't get a first innings lead. Philippe made a fluent 74, but only Sam Heazlett other than him passed 30 and it was left to the bowlers to get the second best partnership. Scott Boland was an important reason why as he took yet another five-for.
Sure, the real story of NT's second innings of this game was Jhye Richardson picking up the first 10-for of the tournament, and he absolutely deserves credit for that. But let's not get lost the performances of NT's batsmen. Ben Cooper made his maiden 50 of the tournament, Tyran Liddiard made easily his highest professional score, Tom Andrews came within four of completing a pair of fifties and even Scott Boland hit a few lusty blows.
At two points - when Bryce Street was in, and then when Paine and Doran were together - it looked like Sydney were going to have a real shot at winning the game. But Street fell for 99, one short of a deserved ton, and then Solomon Mire took an absurd catch at gully to remove Doran. Paine plugged on, but he only had tailenders for company, and Sydney fell two runs short of winning a very tight finish. Instead, the first draw of the season.

Brisbane's strong first innings was quarterbacked by 79 from Joe Burns, but the reason they pushed past 400 was that everyone contributed. While nobody else passed 50, every other batsman dismissed scored between 25 and 49. Harry Conway and Jason Behrendorff made the best of the tough conditions that they could, taking four wickets while bowling a ton of overs.
If the Brisbane innings was big, the Canberra innings was domination. First, Will Pucovski and Matt Renshaw added 120 for the first wicket. Then, after Pucovski fell heartbreakingly short of a ton, Tim Ward and Jack Edwards made no mistakes in getting their own, and put on 220. That plus four forties meant that Canberra scored 571, easily the highest total of the competition so far. Mitch Starc did take five wickets... from 64 overs.
140 runs behind, and with only a day's play to go at the beginning of the third innings, Brisbane wisely shut up shop. Jason Behrendorff was penetrative as ever but nobody else got too much success and the game was a fairly obvious draw.
