Australia in England

Australia vs Duke's XI
From Hove

Australia loose early wicket

Australia have started off rather poorly in this match against Duke's XI. The first 4 overs have been entertaining already. Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist opened the batting for Australia. Both players started off slowly. 5 runs off the 1st over was a good start from Australia, but Thomas came into the attack for Duke's XI and bowled a Maiden overs right up, so he would feel alot of confidence for the rest of the day.
Things didnt go right for Duke's XI, when Hayden played a glance shot and it went down to 3rd man on the boundary. The fielder came running in, believeing he could get the ball back before the Aussies could finish the single, but the fielder was running to quick for the ball, and found himself running over the ball, and the ball ran away over the rope for 4. Australia were lucky for that, and Duke's XI would feel like it wasnt going to be there day with something like that.
Duke's XI have also had alot of handling errors, giving away over throws, and very poor fielding.

Adam Gilchrist was very slow off the mark. Hayden who has hit 2 boundaries from this 4 overs already, Gilly was just sitting back and knocking the ball around when he wants to. But a loss of concerntration by Gilchrist costed him big time. Thomas bowled, Gilchrist had his eye on the ball, but got him positioning wrong on where the stumps where on the pitch and where he was standing. Gilchrist decided to leave the ball and hope that it went to the keeper, but in the blink of an eye, Gilchrist heard the crunch off the bails, and saw the bails fly over his head. Thomas picked up the wicket, and Gilchrist was walking back to the pavillion with only going for 2 runs.
Australia lost a wicket early, and Captain Ricky Ponting comes to the crease to releave the absense of Gilchrist.

So after 4 overs, Australia is 17 for 1, and looking in trouble. Adam Gilchrist as we said is gone by H. Thomas and only making 2 runs, while Ricky Ponting the new guy at the crease has made 1 run, while Matty Hayden has played a good start to the innings making 13 not out.

Well 19 overs have gone here in England, and the Australians are looking in real trouble. With the early wicket of Adam Gilchrist, Australia couldn?t afford to loose another wicket. Matthew Hayden promised and looked really good, hitting a few boundaries. With Night and Thomas taking the bowling for Duke?s XI, Hayden made the most of the limit of bowling power, and started to knock around the kids from Duke?s. Hayden looked in great touch out in the middle, and was starting to put on a show for the thousands of fans that followed Australia out here. Hayden was hitting the ball around all the way around the park. The fielders didn?t know where the next ball was going to be hit, because Hayden had the confidence to knock it around everywhere.

With Captain Ricky Ponting with him at the crease, Hayden looked more comfortable and relaxed out in the middle. Ponting was out in the middle as well with the wicket of Gilchrist early. Ponting was playing alright, got the ball onto the bat nicely, but the field setup was good by Duke?s XI. Ponting tried to find the caps, but the great batsmen that Ponting is, couldn?t find them. Thomas bowled a Yorker type ball to Ponting, and this is where things started going wrong for Australia. With Gilchrist already gone, now they have Punter going back to the Pavillion not having a great deal of dominance. Thomas bowled a Yorker type ball to Ponting, Ponting had to play off the back foot, and the fielders went up and called for LBW. The Umpire, having a good look at the stumps and where the ball would of hit, after a while decided to give it out, and Ponting was gone.

Brad Hodge, a good promising talent came to the crease for Australia, and now with Gilchrist and Ponting out of the game, Hodge needed to pick up from the slack. With Hayden playing well up the other end of the crease, Hodge just needed to start off slowly, and get more confidence up, and then start playing the power game. But Knight seeing this, decided to go for Hodge early. And with seconds, Hodge was walking back to the Pavillion to join Gilchrist and Ponting. Knight bowled a beautiful fast ball that caught Hodge by surprise. And hit the off stump, so the Aussies in trouble after 19 overs with 55/3.

Australia tours England predicter contest

Australia and England are traditional cricket rivals. Indeed the first Australian cricket team to tour England did so in 1868. What was unusual about this first tour?

It was toured by Indigenous Australians.

Nice pres Roofrom, one comment though, why do the screens from actual gameplay look really blocky ? some look really sharp and clear but there was 1 Hayden graphic that looked like a PS1 game :S.

It is probably because i made the pictures bigger and larger, so they went blockier and harder to see. I made the other ones normal, so they look better now

Well since no one replied to the Trivia Question, i will just continue with the match, Updates coming after school toninght :happy
