Australian Domestic Cricket

Match at North Sydney Oval interrupted by weather
Western Australia 9 for 212 (46 Overs)
Queensland 3 for 145 (29.5 Overs)
Queensland won by 35 Runs (D/L)

Meanwhile New South Wales vs South Australia day/nighter at Drummoyne Oval is still in progress

NSW 6 for 173 in the 33rd Over

So basically this is now how it is.

Queensland finish on top of the table and automatically go through to the final, while New South Wales will play Victoria in the Elimination Final on Thursday at North Sydney Oval

Was there always a playoff to get into the final? I thought it was just the top two teams.

NSW v SA
NSW innings

SA Innings

They're now claiming that the revamped format has been a success. So I wonder will this mean that next summer we'll see it playing at suburban ground around say Melbourne?

In this kind of form Warner is in, i'm looking forward to a potential ODI/T20 top three of Finch/Warner/Watson.

It's good seeing him going back to the aggressive roots, if he can keep that going when he returns to ODIs then he should be able to keep that spot long term.

The problem with assessing this performance is that you don't get to roll up your favourite ground and take it with you. If you want to know what his form is truly like, then you have to see how he goes on a remotely different wicket. Put him under a bit of pressure like in the games where he was struggling. The real question of Warner is not if he can clear a 60m boundary. It is how he faces sharp opening bowlers. Is he going to be pinned down, unable to pick a single? Is he going to be flinching and woofing outside off?

There are a number of batsmen who performed well on the far more difficult Bankstown wicket and frankly Warner wasn't one of them.

Yeah North Sydney oval. Flat wicket and only the size of a postage stamp. Probably only the size of Pukekura Park in New Plymouth NZ where the first successful ODI 300+ run chase took place

Anyway New South Wales in the final have finished up with 6 for 317 off their 50 Overs

Queensland win the Ryobi Cup with 3 consecutive sixes, sums up North Sydney Oval really. I thought NSW were a chance when QLD needed 46 off 23 but Cutting is in some really consistent hitting form.

We can't beat Queensland at anything...

Yeah it seems that way :( They've won 8 State of Origin Rugby League series in a row now another Ryobi Cup They seem to have the wood on us blue baggers at the moment. Just wonder why James Hopes is batting so low in the order though since has often batter high before and has opened in ODIs

Decent enough score by White, could do with a hundred but good start. Look forward to seeing where Cooper goes too, always been a talent but taken so long to deliver.

Good to see Bollinger among the wickets, he is pretty much the forgotten fast bowler of the AUS team across all formats.

Don't like the loss but it's good seeing batsmen standing up so far. Looks like a good knock by Doolan on that wicket given no other batsmen got a 100.

White form looking good and he's winding back the clock with his bowling too. And excellent seeing Boyce ripping up in the second innings.

Liking the early season batting exploits by Tom Cooper, he always looked a decent player while representing Holland. A good season & a AUS call-up, for the test format in particular is strong possibility.
