I'm going to be doing an Ashes Tour of Australia. There will be no Warm Up Matches and no One day Series. Just the Battle for The Ashes. I will be using Cric '07 with the latest updates on 4* difficulty. Hope you enjoy.

After England successfully won back the Ashes in 2005 it is now the time for England to give the Aussies a chance to regain their pride

Gilchrist and Warne both miss First Test

Bad news for Australia. Adam Gilhrist and Shane Warne will miss the first test in Brisbane. Adam Gilchrist is expecting the arrival of his baby when the first Test starts and Warne is suffering from a calf injury. Both should be back by the Second Test in Adelaide.

Here are the two squads for this series

Warne and Gilchrist will be replaced by Hogg and Haddin for the first match. Here are the two teams for the first match:

Coming up we will have the pitch report with Ian Botham and David Gower

It is now time for the pitch report with Ian Botham and David Gower.

Well this is a very hard pitch. The two fast bowlers Harmison and Brett Lee will find a lot of bounce on this pitch and cause the batsmen many problems. There are already a few cracks appearing so winning the toss and batting first is what I would advise. As time goes on I think the pitch might get a bit slower but there will still be enough life in it on Day 5 to cause problems.

Andrew Flintoff has won the toss and chosen to bat first. A good decision. Play will be starting shortly

Australia control first session

England's Ashes campaign got of to a horrible first session, with Australia destroying the English lower order meeting little resistance. First to go was Strauss for only 1 run getting caught at square leg

Ian Bell then perished for a duck getting caught by the skipper Ricky Ponting

cricket072007-07-1415-26-20-23.jpg

Kevin Pietersen and Alistair Cook staged a revival and got a Partnership past 50

Before Pietersen fell getting caught at second slip after making a good start

cricket072007-07-1415-47-42-45.jpg

The only positive had been Alistair Cook who had played some very nice shots

He however was trapped LBW by Hogg

Collingwood then unluckily played on of the bowling of Hogg again

This meant that at Lunch on Day 1 England are 115/5

cricket072007-07-1420-06-17-03.jpg

Glenn McGrath and Brad Hog have been the main strike men keeping it tight and getting wickets

England will be very disappointed about that first session after winning a good toss to win. We will be looking at where England went wrong over Lunch with Ian Botham, David Gower, Mark Nicholas and David Lloyd.
