I think you're just agreeing with me here - The IPL gives exposure, rather than "unearthing" talent. And some much needed exposure at that.

Not really agreeing with you. It maye give exposure within the team, but it hardly gives exposure to the watching public. Ajinkya Rahane for example. One of the top batsmen in the domestic cricket doesn't get any exposure at all because he's not given a defined role within the team. Virat Kohli has one, for example. More teams should do what Bangalore do with Virat Kohli.

Yup Ive always felt Bangalore gives due credit to Kohli and gives him enough chances,by sending him early in an innings and allowing him to play his natural game.Same can be said about Rohit Sharma earlier in the tournament. Now hes more of a finisher.KKR,Mumbai,Chennai, and even Rajasthan(Jadeja and Yusuf Pathan dont exactly know their roles just because of the fact that they arent consistently sent in at a standard position).

i think most of us are really enjoying IPL the way it is and i don't really think complicating things will be of much help.i bet malit lodi:D had that in mind.:cheers

Where's the option for "I hate it except for Gilchrist, Warne, McGrath and Hayden"?

I love IPL and T20. And I love it even more when test cricket lovers say its mickey mouse criket.

And for IPL last year it gave us Yousuf and Raina back and this year Rohit finally learnt how to bat again and RP got memory back in bowling as well.

Younger lot can just enjoy fat pay cheques and enjoy with babes when they get back cos getting to play for India demands approaches.

Well, the majority of PC users (7 out of 8, 90%) think that IPL is fine, and there is no problem with it.

King Cricket added 0 Minutes and 32 Seconds later...

Sorry, 6 out of 7.

This is hardly the problem with the IPL. The problem is the number of matches. I am bored of the IPL now.

a/ get rid of it.
b/ cut down the number of matches and play it from early January.

Enough of the whining, man. We get it. The English don't like the IPL. Does it really need to be said over and over again?

I don't like IPL, I don't dislike IPL. I just don't give 2 craps about it. I watched 1 and a bit matches this year and I don't see myself adding to that unless I get home from work early one day and am really bored. I guess the timing of the matches makes it pretty hard for English viewers to care as we are at work and its so intense and there are so many matches that it is impossible to follow casually.

So cut down the number of matches, play it in January when there are no other series being played, make the whole thing less Indian, and BANG... we have a decent tournament. But the IPL is what made the England-WI series such a disaster.

I've said this earlier, the foreigner rule should be changed if you want the IPL to be popular. 5 foreigners, instead of 4, should be allowed in each team. It will do no harm to it's "Indian" scent, yet it will create the perfect balance between the Indians and the foreign guys. It really should be done.

Australia, New Zealand, South Africa all have their summer then.
