Border Gavaskar Trophy in C2K4??? Here It IS!

Australia is at present touring India and the trophy they are trying to win is called Border Gavaskar Trophy (since 98). I just thought C2K4 could do with such a trophy of its own. This trophy is just like a C2K4 "foreign tour" complete with Tour matches, 5 Test Matches and 7 ODI's to follow (I havent followed the official schedule that the Aussies are following here in India right now!) and of course the main point is all this on Indian Stadia...

So here it is. Just unzip the sav file from the attached zip file to C:\My Documents\Ea Sports\Cricket2004\user-(your username) folder. Start the game and start playing. Please note that this file is user08.sav so either copy it to a user folder where user08 is empty or change its name to suit urself.

There are a few shortcomings though and I hope that you guyz will bear with them. they are:
1) Since there are just Two Indian First Class Sides the first tour match of the tour Aussies have to play against South Africa A (arbitrary choice). Any body cares to make a Mumbai Team Roster?? or Rest of India???
2) I have used the Carribean Tour Template to generate this hence in some menus and in scorecard, u will see "Carribean Tour" written at the top. For the computer it still is that. I am trying hard to crack open the respective files but still couldnt holdback this file. I have managed to chnage the tour name in the main tour menu, but not the others. Its a bit detailed process and more on it later in this thread.
3) I would like to have some people test this file for me coz I haven't yet figured out whose success percentage will be depicted by the computer at the Tour Main Menu. - Australia's or Indian Teams??/

This entails quite a few extremely exciting possibilities. Matter of time as I said somewhere....

I can certainly tell you how to sort out the carribean tour text. The files to edit are noname712, 713 and 714
Get the offsets in the way I showed you.

You can change the pic too to be of India. The host nation is technically India so if you play as them and win your success percentage will be 0... (?)

thanks vibs...by the way colin... i did manage to change that name on my pc but i didnt know how to make it GI importable...btw how did you manage to change the name to such a long one??? I mean the default is "Carribean tour" which is 14 chars...and if we increase over that the no. of bytes of the file increases...can you explain it a bit pls??

any other suggestions and demands for different types of tours are welcome...

I just kept the number of charactors for the whole file the same. I also had to change b_carribean to b_subcon so I lost some there. Otherwise I tend to just delete extra decimal places on the numbers.

dude first replace any of the saved files with the bgtrophy.zip in the first post here... then download the other zip file given by barmy army and use GI 2.2... if you use only the first zip then u will face the shortcomings listed in the first post and if you use only the second zip then u will start a Carribean tour bearing a name "Border Gavaskar Trophy" - right colin??

i also noticed that the teams aint updated. Also when i want to change the lineup i noticed your .sav file doesnt have shane warne. Can you possibly fixit up.

well...unfortunately i tried out my experiment on a user-folder that wasnt updated with the latest roster (i am already playing a full season in there and didnt want to disturb the teams)...i can do one thing...i can use lineup editor and change the lineups in this sav file...u can do that too or just wait a little for edited sav file...

Here he is. Add him in yourself using the 'Import Player' feature on the new Player Editor (you'll need to unzip the file first).
The player highlighted when you click 'import player' will be the one replaced so I suggest you use A.Wilson or J.Wellard.
