Hi, was just wandering whether people bowl a full length when its cloudy/v cloudy. Also when do you bowl short deliveries? - when the bounce is uneven/erratic?

I never know when to bowl short/full and which bowlers to use for which length.

Cheers

I'd suggest you bowl short with fast bowlers with the bounce is uneven/erratic and normal length for fast medium/medium fast. As for when it's cloudy, I don't think it would make much of a difference if you pitched it up unless you're bowling to the tail.

The only exceptions I make with length are letting M bowlers bowl fuller from their end. Otherwise, I just target weaknesses. For example, if a guy likes Front Foot + Legside, one bowler bowls medium length and outside off, the other short and on offstump. I use plans like these, so rarely take weather into account. Maybe let Ms bowl more in cloudy conditions, and make F/FM/MFs bowl the shorter line on erratic pitches, that's pretty much the most of it.
