hi everyone,
i am having problems with the bowling in the game.
My control setup is as follows:
arrow keys for movement
button 1 -- ctrl
button 2 -- shift
button 3 -- x
button 4 -- c
button 5 -- z

When using a pace/med fast bowler i can't "fix" the bowling cursor and stop the bowling meter from filling using ANY OTHER button than ctrl{button 1}.This deprives me of using cut/seam/slower ball etc and this is against what the manual says.

I am facing this problem in the practice nets and all the matches.Batting is absolutely fine.I have tried re-configuring the controls but to no avail.

I would be grateful if anyone could offer some help on this.

Cheers.

[color=#000000:post_uid9]I am using Microsoft Sidewinder pad and the same problems are still here. That's roobish is that only button that startsstops a delivery in button 1 and I have tried reconfiguring the setting to all 10 different buttons and still no use.
Would the patch sort it?

Please help as I need to be able to bowl consistently down the corrider of uncertainty and get the batters showing their roobish techneeque,

i am using saitek-34 gamepad but i aint got any problem?? ??? well i think u should see the "overlays" folder and pictures in it... u will understand the trick i hope :D

First things first- if you call me a racist for being a Yorkshireman like the great Fiery Boycott, then you not only insult me you insult all men from the cricketing county of the world Yorkshire.

Secondly, you mention the "overlay folder". Is this in the game and the control config. or is it somewhere else?

Anything else is just roobish

I only have in theoverlay folder the following subfolders:
Duck
Graphs
tempoverlay
plus files runradar1.tga & runradar2.tga

I have also reied using my LOgitech Wingman Rumblepad and I still can only "set" the bowling by using button 1.

Am I missing something here? Can you only set the bowling with button 1 and have to move the sem curser to achieve the different type of balls available?

I would really appreciate some help on this as I love the game but feel it is totally one sided towards the batsmen.(Which should really be a good thing for a Geoffrey Boycott fanatic)

Hey ritwik,
Bowling is so very interesting in Cricket 2002 becoz you can do a lot of things, that comes naturally.

Just use the 1 and 2 buttons (I like the BLC way of config), I have changed them to "enter" and "shift", to start the way you want to ball after adjusting. Then press 3 or ctrl (my config) to adjust the speed you would like to reach and then press enter to stop the increasing speed.(the red thing below)

Do Not take the red fluid to go to the max coz that will make you bowl no balls. Figuring this made me mad....... but after this I really enjoyed the many variations in bowling (these are displayed when you get to the runup)..

I generally get the computer out in 50-60 odd runs. Bowling yorkers at off stump and changing pace of shot balls really takes wickets.

dont worry hes only jokin m8
well i think so
bcoz he comes from the same school from me :;):

You mention to use just button 1 and 2 and button 3 to set the speed.
This does not seem to work at all.

Can anyone suggest a config on either keyboard (last resort), a Microsoft Sidewinder Pad or Logitech WIngman Rumble Pad that actually works and allows the so called different bowling styles to happen.

Cheers

The only files I can see are called bowl1a.tga, bowl1b.tga, bowl1c.tga and bowl2.tga.
There are no other files relating to bowling or acd...

What am I looking for and what do I have to change edit?

I am sorry if I am appearing foolish here!!
