C2K4 is fun despite the bugs

im halfway through a test match friendly between australia and india

its at hobart on a wet pitch so i decided to bowl first (im australia)

after chopra and sehwag batted okay the nentire batting order collapsed and they only amde bout 120 in the end highest score being sehwag (35)

this is ahrd level

the ball was doing a lot and williams ended up with 3 wickets and going at around 1.6 an over

hayden was out 4th ball of the second over, playing a back foot defensive to a ball that stayed low

langer was out playing the same shot to 1 that cut back in also

from then on i came forward to everything

martyn went out quickly for 3 for 1 of the many LBWs in my innings

ponting (20) and love (15) were in at the end of the day and looking okay, i employed the block and run strategy

they were dismissed early in the morning and after a small partnership between katitch and gilchrist (gilly hit the only 4) i was about 90

lee went out first ball and bracken failed to occupy the crease for much

williams and macgill put on about 15 between them to bring my score past 14 but macgill was out LBW to H.Singh (he was also dropped trying to smack 1)

i am now currently 14 behind and india are about to start their first innings its not even lunch on 2nd day lol

these scores may seem unrealistic but it is very fun and i can sense a great chase with me needing to get around 200 in my last innings

this is mainly for those who dont have the game saying there is still hope even though there are obvious bugs

i have it on PC btw

ill keep yaz posted and ill take some screenies if someone could plz gimme a link to a program that takes pics of ya desktop coz we all know print screen button aint workin in da game

My only complaint about cricket 2004 is the lack of information....apart this site and shopping site...there are only a few other web site that has cricket 2004 info.....EASPORT still has cricket 2002 as their cricketing game....i mean the game looks like it could be easily forgotten......easport has no information on patches either...............and for other games cheat and hidden secrets are usually released when the game is released.....i got the game for a month now....and have absoulately found no hidden secrets in an cheat site....
 
i agree with u both....the game rocks despite the bugs and other graphics prob.....but i think that there should have been an official site for it.....like they had for c2002....maybe i think they will do that for the UK release....but that would be too late for the ppl who already ordered or bought the game already
 
Yeah agreed,not a bad game at all.One thing i really like about C 2k4 is that the run outs are pretty realistic now,i mean,It takes some time for keeper to take the bails off the stump,while in C2k2 ,no sooner did the throw reach the keeper,then the keeper would take the bails off.
 
whether this gameplay thing i downloaded sucks in test matches or the game is far to easy well yeh

after india made 130 odd and i made 106 in first innings on a horrible batting surface i thought...meh good bowling

i bowled out india for 38 in second innings

only needing 56 to win i went for the smack

i was equal to their score with 5 opr so wickets in hand but i wanted to see wat a draw was like so i just let all me batters go out

but basically i am hoping that on a normal/hard pitch etc that ti will be much funner

my top score was ponting, 21 and wehwag 35 for india
 
I agree with melbourm martin that despite some glitches Cricket2004 is still fun to play as it has lot of cool features and longevity.It,s hard is much better than Cricket2002.
 
Most people here are being too b loody picky.

Enjoy the game for what it is.... pretty decent

Its just a video game after all :cheezy:
 
it was on hard

i think i may go on a couple of ODI tours etc with 10 over games (dun require save/reload) and we are all aware of dat bug
 
To Melbournemartin or anyone who knows the answer. In your post at the top you said you were playing a Test match friendly. How come? Did you mean you were playing a Test Match series and treating it like a friendly because I can't find an exhibition type option on my game. And am I right in saying that there is no option for one day matches, like the exhibition games in 2002, apart from Tour options? I wanted to play as England against Pakistan in a 50 over game in Pakistan, and I don't seem to be able to do it.
 
I think u need to select the Play Now option in the main menu. That will then give u the option to play an exhibition match with any team u want and any type of match at any venue.
 
yeh play now allows ya to play 10/20/50/4day/5day games

this was an exhibition 5 day

im sure some gmaeplay patches that work for all forms of the game will come
