Carib Shield | Thrilling final goes down to the wire

With the first-class game in the West Indies having been blighted by low standards, the WICB has authorised a new domestic competition in order to produce more of the kinds of performances that have so challenged England. The Carib Shield will be played between the top eight cricketing nations in the region: Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia, St Vincent & The Grenadines, and Trinidad & Tobago.

In order to bring the four smaller cricketing nations towards the standard of the Big Four, as well as to ensure that Test players from other nations don't miss out, they will be allowed to field up to three players from neighbouring islands.
