Barbados' strength is usually a fast bowling line up to die for complimented by fearless batsmen. Whichever quickie they select in the final eleven he is normally bound to have played for the West Indies but for this shortest version of the game the selectors have decided to blend youth and experience. Dwayne Smith, the West Indies all rounder, has been elevated to the captaincy and he, Dale Richards and the under-achieving former captain Ryan Hind shave been long enough to how crucial they are in putting runs on the board. Ahmed Proverbs comes back into the mix after years of being out of the reckoning along with the young and impressively level headed Jonathan Carter.Though not possessing the high calibre batting line up of years ago, and not even making it to the semi finals in 2006, Barbados remains a top ranked regional team which can easily rally and secure the winners title.

Bermuda
Bermuda is the only team in the Stanford 20/20 Tournament which has ICC Cricket World Cup experience. And this will land them in good stead even though still very much a minnow on the world stage. They do have the skills to be competitive on the regional scene. In 2006 they played their first game against Jamaica and were blown away when the 74 they made was overtaken inside six overs by the rampaging pair of Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels. In 2008 although they secured a bye to the second round their luck has not turned too much for the better, having to go up against reigning champion Guyana in their first outing. Always with the crowd pulling, oversized but highly efficient spin bowler Dwayne Leverock in their side, Bermuda will have to have a dream day to dump Guyana out of the tournament.
