well my old school was set ablaze on saturday between the hours of 2am-6am at night(well in the morning)...the fire engulfed all of the reception, library, staff room, business block, ICT block, main hall, gym, changing rooms and the social areas...so it was MASSIVE...the school will now be closed till 3 november for arrangements where students will study etc...many people think that it was the holligans who set the little caravans (used for interviews etc) on fire 3 years ago but i doubt it...this was absolutely HUGE...and the school didn't even have a sprinkler system...other people also think that the principle set it on fire to gain money from insurance and the caravan fire was the preliminary experiment...lol...
me and my mates always go to play footie in a field near the school on the weekends and there was a big crowd there...it was like a tourist attraction...people were comin and goin like mad...sados...have they got nothing else to do on a sunday evening...i think the school would have made enough money to repair it if they charged them to see the ruins:p

Very sad. :( I know what it is like to have a school burnt down.

Every kid's fantasy (as long as no-one was hurt of course). Many a time have I wished the school would burn down so I could miss Science

The only shame is they'll have something in place by the time you'd come back from half-term.

With even less facilities and more therefore more boring lessons.

yh but i won't be there so...but people were sayin that they were gonna move pupils to different schools and community thingys (dunno what it's called:rolleyes:) where they will study until there appropriate facilities available...i mean you can't do ICT without computers can you...well you can but not in school you can't:p

it's probably worse in the long term as you have to work without all the facilities etc but in short term, you get a week or two off which probably makes up for it for most people:rolleyes:

Honestly, I would hate it if my school got burnt down before I was to sit the board exam (Grades 11, 12 and 13 in O levels, 10 and 12 in CBSE). The only one to suffer from the fire would be me, and my future would be on the line if I couldn't complete the portion or prepare for the exams.

But yea, I had dreams of the school going up in a ball of flames during grades 8 and 9...I even dreamt that a few certain people were left behind :spy

What the hell. I swear you're not normal, suppose that's what happens to you Norfolk folk ;) You make it sound like it's a real sad thing, missing a few days of school because of a fire is every kids dream, apart from Snow Day's of course. I bet you even see Snow Days as an inconvenience to your educational week don't you Lee :p

You think like that until it actually happens. Afterwards you feel sad about it.

I'd of thought that in the long term this is better as they'll probably get mmore money to develop the school so its more modern and worse in the short term as those who have work that been lost will have to do it again and many will be without teaching for the near future.

When my middle school burnt down it was rebuilt in a different area of the grounds and when it was finished it was very modern and state-of-the-art. It was great having lessons in there.

The fire happened in the closing stages of the summer holidays. The headmaster was determined not to send the students to different schools, so after a 2 week extension we were given lessons by our teachers in a group of Portakabins which we nicknamed "Legoland". It was surprisingly comfortable.
