Changing Best XI and Batting order by hex editing?

Recently I have become sort of angry during matches due to the two important things left out of Cricket 2002. First the option to chose the computer's team before a match so you can have relevant players to the situation and secondly the fact you cannot change the batting lineup during play.

Well I was thinking that it may be possible to hex edit the save game file and change the lineup and players from the other team.

Is this possible? I have only begun hex editing a small amount and am able to do a reasonable amount of editing but can't seem to find something in the save game file to change these two options.

So can someone tell me if it is possible because if it is then I reckon someone should make a savegame editor were you can edit stats like that.

Thanks,
Michael

It is possible Michael.

I have found out how to change the batting XI and the bowling order.

It takes a fair bit of concentration, but the results are worthwhile!!

I won't tell you all now because it would take up too much space, but I am going to do a tutorial.

I will post the link when I am finished...

Thanks very much. This should be very handy for a lot of matches.

I look forward to this tutorial.

Yeah. It's something that's needed in the game. Why EA Sports left it out I don't know.

<span style='color:#000000:post_uid0'>hi friends,
now i am finally able you guys to change the STARTING LINE-UP(DEFAULT line-up) for both TESTS as well as ODIs in Cricket'2002. After the sparkling idea from scott, i made one very illustrated tutorial about how to change the batting, bowling line-ups for both ODIs as well as Tests. Thanks to scott.
What I mean is, the 1st 8 lines (if you are using a hex editor such as Ultra Edit) is where the information is contained that determines the starting line-ups.

pls found the detailed illustration for the player line-up editing in

http://eac2002.sphosting.com/index.htm

if u'r browser won't support the direct clicking just copy the above link and paste it in the new browser window.

After making the above tutorial, I will encourage any PROGRAMMER for making the DEFAULT LINE-UP EDITOR for "CRICKET'2002" after reading that article. Just give me, my name as the Credit in your software. Nothing more than that. As i am not comfortable with the program (VB), i will expect any one of you guys can make this software and expand our CRICKET'2002 playing experience. Need u'r feedback.
