(Rooney's late strike salvages some pride for England)

Capello's first game at home this season. The Italian is looking for his first win as England manager. Turkey are a good and will be tough to beat them. With England in need of a win before the qualifications starts in a months time.

Liverpool midfielder Gerrard is caught in possession and is tackled by Emre, he passes through to Tuncay who can now utilize his pace. He drops the shoulder and takes a shot, it beats Foster but it comes off the crossbar, it falls to the feet of Nihat who tucks it away from close range. Great start for Turkey.

A.Cole takes the throw-in for England. Joe Cole turns and passes to Gerrard, he puts the ball through to Rooney who shoots first time, it whistles just passed the post. Fenerbache keeper Volkaan was well beaten their if that was on target.

Volkaan takes the goal kick and Gerrard knocks it down for Jermain Defoe. Ozat clears to safety but Terry heads it upfield to Defoe, he takes a touch and gets passed Teber, he passes to Rooney who flicks it back to the Englishman, he takes one touch before firing low towards goal. And it's in! Defoe has equalised for England .

Lampard moved the ball forward for England, he plays it to Gerrard. He causes Teber all sorts of problems and whips in a beautiful cross. Rooney gets his head on the ball but once again it's not happening for the Manchester United striker, it flies over the crossbar.

The half time whistle blows at Wembley, as it goes it's a pretty even game.

England start brightly, Joe Cole runs forward, he shoots from distance but it's blocked by Seyhan. It falls to Hargreaves who gets passed Basturk, he pretends to shoot but slots the ball through to Defoe who shoots. Great save by Volkaan.

Free kick to England, Ferdinand and Terry clears upfield. Seyhan gets a head on the ball. Tuncay flicks the ball round Ferdinand and he takes on Neville, he slides it through to Nihat who takes one touch before shooting. Superb save by Ben Foster but it falls to Tuncay who once again slots the ball into the back of an empty net.

Garry Neville takes a throw-in for England. Long throw aimed towards Defoe, Emre gets it away, only as far as to Ferdinand who heads the ball upfield, Rooney touches the ball on the chest and lays it off to Lampard who passes to Gerrard, he knocks it back to Ashley Cole, he boots it upfield, Rooney nods it down to Gerrard who knocks it out wide to Hargreaves. He whips it into the box and Rooney gets their before Volkaan. It's in! So late in the game. Wembley has erupted! Rooney has surely got England a well deserved draw.

The whistle blows around Wembley as Alan Wiley blows for full time. Capello waves to the fans before going down the tunnel hearing Rooney's name being chanted as his strike in the 88th minute secured a well deserved draw for the home side .

Turkey are no pushovers so even though it was a home game, 2-2 isn't a bad result at all.

How come they dint make any subs??

Unlucky, you maybe could have won but did well to salvage a late point!

Good story and presentation!

(Lampard celebrates the winning goal)

Both clubs wanted to win today as to kick off their season in style .Reading having beaten United earlier today Chelsea would love to take an early advantage over their rivals . It was a surprising lineup by Scolari as Kaka and Sheva attacked up front with Joe Cole on wide left and Deco on wide right .

Long boot upfield by Petr Cech. Shevchenko and Taylor rise. Shevcehnko goes down clutching his face, the whistle blows. Barry Knight calls over Taylor. He produces a yellow card. Steven Taylor has been sent off within the first five minutes at St James Park.

Shevchenko runs with the ball, he is brought down on the edge of the box by Cacapa. England midfielder Frank Lampard steps up, great save by Given but Joe Cole is there to tuck away the rebound. His first goal of the season, how important will this goal be.

Joe Cole bombs down the right, he gets passed Luis Enrique with ease. He gets into the box and Cacapa comes sliding in with a tackle. Joe Cole looks up at the ref but the linesman flags for a corner to Chelsea.

Minutes into the second half, A free kick is whipped in from the left by Ashely Cole. Alex rises up but misses the ball and lands on the floor. It looks like the Brazilian could be seriously hurt here. He is replaced by Ricardo Carvalho.

Free kick is given to Newcastle. Shay Given knocks it upfield. Obafemi Martins latches on to it, he heads it to Milner who jinks passed Bosingwa and knocks it into the box, Cech misses it and Viduka is there to head it in to back of the net. The ten men of Newcastle are level and you can't say they deserve it.

Ashley Cole takes a throw-in. Ballack now with the ball for Blues, he feeds an excellent ball through to Kaka who is onside, he shoots but Given saves it. It comes back to Kaka who passes to Ballack who passes to Shevchenko, he shoots but it's blocked by Cacapa. It falls to Deco who heads it to Lampard, he shoots on the volley. It's in. What a goal by Frank Lampard, worthy of winning any game, if it proves to be the winner here.

The full time whistle blows at St James Park, a superb win for Chelsea. Scolari waves to the fans before heading down the tunnel. Apart from Alex getting injured early into the second half, it has been a good day for Chelsea
