Chelsea's manger Carlo Ancelotti decided to make a complete change to his side with only Frank Lampard, Michael Essien and Ricardo Carvalho who are regular first team players, surprisingly Lampard was not given the captain armband but rather it was given to 20 year old Franco Di Santo whose loan to Blackburn was disrupted . Ancelotti said "I decided to take all my concern off this match and let the youngsters take the game on their own, I also decided to give Di Santo the captaincy. I think I will put a lot into these youngsters and make them into some good footballers in the coming future.
We couldn't reach Sir Alex Ferguson on his opinions about the game.

First-Half
3rd min: Chelsea earns a throw on near the box and Kakuta takes it and he throws it right into the box, Sturridge heads at it!! Alas! it comes off his head badly and Van der Sar has no trouble holding it.
8th min: Rooney tries to dart through the defence with his strength and he breaks through it!! Carvalho comes in a kick the ball clean off him and leaving Rooney pissed off who thought he just had the opener.
9th min: Carrick gets a bit tired with Kakuta and just pegged him, luckily no card was shown.
11th min: Ivanovic takes a free kick and passes quickly to Sturridge who runs the wing with his pace, Evra managed to nudge the ball oh him but Sturridge gets it back and crosses it into the box and Van der Sar takes it with no pressure at all.
17th min: Chelsea switches wing which leaves Manchester United hanging but Matic was to slow and O'Shea cleared the ball off him and its Chelsea throw and it looks dangerous. Ferreira takes it and throws it into the box Lampard has space to chess it and turn, he shoots from the angle and it and it flies towards the bar but Van der punches off.
18th min: Di Santo calls for the corner and he takes it he send it in to Alex who is at near post and Alex heads it and echos of the post. Alex always hit them with power the post helped United there who are tending to become a little restless in defense.
20th min: United immediately counters and Par Ji Sung leads the attack into Chelsea's half only to give the away the ball to Ferreira who made a spot on tackle. If it wasn't for him United would have been leading.
22nd min: Carvalho takes up the cleared ball from Ferreira and passes to Lampard who runs down the middle and he chucks it Sturridge who sends it behind the defender for Lampard to collect and run on. Two defenders up ahead what will he do he is outside the box and has space to shoot, he raises his foot and sends a wonderful through ball through defenders Vidic and Ferdinand and Di Santo collects it and he is one on one clear goal scoring chance and he wastes no time and tricks Van der Sar with a toe poke with his left foot and it settled into the back of the net. Franco Di Santo has score the opener with some brilliant playing by Lampard. Van der Sar was fooled totally thinking Di Santo was going to shoot with his right. So the score is 1-0.
25th min: United immediately attack and Chelsea are caught offset and Rooney plays a wonderful ball into the box to Berbatov who manged to get past last man Carvalho and he has an easy cahnce to equalise for United unfortunately the Bulgarian bulldog failed to take the shot quickly and Taylor covered the bars and Berbatov hit the post. That was good playing from.
30th min: Ferreira tries a run down wing and is successful and reaches the box and he come into takes a shot and Van der Sar punches it and it falls behind Di Santo who turns and shoot but he is off balanced and the shoot was easily blocked by a defender.
33rd min: Matic intercepts a Ferdinand past and he takes the wing and crosses Di Santo gathers himself before the ball and he powers a header but it goes wide of the post. Chelsea are looking dominant in this game.
44th min: Matic takes the wing and oh my god he is tormenting Uinted wing with his tricky feet and he is able to cross it to Di Santo who heads it badly and Van der Sar easily claims it.
52nd min: Sturridge takes ball to the wing and the ball is kicked off for throw on by Vidic. Lampard collects the throw and passes the ball the ball to Di Santo on the edge of the 18 yard box and he volleys but he kicks thin air just as O'Shea slides in and takes the ball off him.
54th min: Fletcher in - Carrick out.
]63rd min: Di Santo plays ball to Sturridge who gets pass Vidic and takes a shot from a difficult angle but Van der Sar blocks it.
65th min: Owen in - Fletcher out. What is Ferguson up to he just brought on Fletcher and is now bringing him off. Maybe he saw something that needed to be done so he did that.
68th min: Ivanovic throws a long ball into the box and Lampard heads it wide.
68th min: Kalou in - Matic out. Matic had a good game today, he tormented United's left wing so he deserves an applause.
71st min Essien makes a run into space in the box and he gets himself into a tight angle and he shoots it and Van der Sar punched it off. Corner cleared by Owen.
76th min: Rooney counters on Chelsea's defense but Essiens save the day.
90th min:Anelka in - Kakuta out.
90th min: BEEP!! BEEP!! BEEP!! Full time Chelsea have claimed the the Community Shield with and unorthodox team.
Chelsea dominated the game entirely with only United getting one chance to settle it level which was Berbatov chance but hit the post. Chelsea are looking forward into another era of football with this as the beginning.
Chelsea have picked up the French playmaker of Bordeaux. He agreed to sign a deal for two years and 78,000 pounds a game which is two times more than what he use to earn at Bordeaux. Bordeaux agreed with a fee of 35 million pounds for the Frenchman. Manager Carlo Ancelott said he will have to make changes to his squad to support to attacking midfielders like Lampard and Gourcuff. We will have to wait to see next Saturday what formation he plays.
