Is codemasters taking us for a ride...in the other forum this was posted by zimrahil

On the Codemasters forum it was observed only certain commentators were being promoted as being in the game. A member asked about Bill Lawry and here was Rubbergenius' reply..
at the monet he is in there.

What is codemasters playing at????
Have they gone the EA way???

why do you predict early? lets see how their product is!! I am sure it should be better than EA's Cricket 2004. They show lot of promise!

i really hope i dont have to listen to snozza warehouse (12th man) bill lawry in brian lara, that would be torture

lawry is a legend, whose style fits fine even today,i still remember the excitement when he was commentating in the semis aus vs sa(wc99),klusener in full flow.he was facting brilliant.(iceman, plz stop posting private meassages,u coward).

Disagree

I disagree with you. I don't mind how many commentators are in the game, they are just an added bonus. To me gameplay is what really matters and this is shaping up to be a groundbreaker. I don't think Cricket 2004 was that bad, mine doesn't have patches. :noway

It could just be different commentators for different versions.

I don't think thats likely as they've been stressing on the fact that all the versions would be more or less identical (except for the XBOX version having better graphics than the ps2 one).

guys, what abt the fifa series??do they have diff commies for diff countries.obviously for english spking countries.

Fifa's made by a completely different company so there is no way you can compare it to BLIC.

But to answer your question, I believe they use the same commentators. Correct me if i'm wrong someone!

I thought Rubber said that the two commentators were being promoted for BLIC because they were English and the game would have the biggest release in England. They didn't promote them for Ricky Ponting as that game will be released in Australia. Just common sense to me.

Here is a short article I read on the weekend.

Tony Grieg and Bill Lawry have recorded thousands of lines of commentary for the upcoming game RPIC. Greif believes video games are vital for widening cricket's audience......

FIFA 99 or 2000 had different commentators in the US with a male American commentator and a proffessional women player as co-commentator.

However I think the move was unpopular and EA had to put the whole UK commentary file on their site to download. After that all the english language releases of FIFA just had the normal UK commentators (John Motson etc.)
