Won an absolute thriller by 1 wicket with 2 balls to spare after looking like never having a chance!!!

My team (Maharashtra Warriors) were in strife at 157/6 batting after Outlaws made a solid 283/9.

While chasing, the first 3 overs saw the top order rocked to 6 for 3 wickets, and that point, I almost gave up following it, but I decided to see if the team could get atleast 200. It ended being upto my all-rounder (Singh Iali) and the tail end to save us from an embarrasing total, and I never expected this to happen.

I luckily came online in time to see these last few overs...

Singh 9-0-56-1
Malik* 18 (20 balls)
130 (124 balls)

49.4 6 Singh to Singh lali
He takes a huge swipe and somehow clears the long on ropes. No footwork, just brute strength.
49.3 4 Singh to Singh lali
Singh has his head in his hands after Singh lali finds the boundary, punishing a short ball.
49.2 1 Singh to Malik
On the front foot, managed to work it around to the deep mid wicket region.
49.1 1 Singh to Singh lali
Solid stroke to mid off.

End of Over 49: 273-9, runrate=5.57, reqrunrate=11.00 (283-9)
Karthikeyan 10-0-54-3
Singh lali* 119 (121 balls)
Malik 17 (19 balls)
Last Wicket: Paki b. Karthikeyan 6 (FOW: 225/9)
48.6 3 Karthikeyan to Singh lali
They turn back for the third run, the throw comes in, this will be out if he hits, but no, it misses and they make it home.
48.5 4 Karthikeyan to Singh lali
Tossed up, but heaved up and over the leg side. Four runs.
48.4 1 Karthikeyan to Malik
On the toes, managed to stroke it down to third man for the single.
48.3 . Karthikeyan to Malik
Right on the money. Good length ball cutting back in from outside off stump, through to Abdul kadir.
48.2 4 Karthikeyan to Malik
Played the ball with the spin and was always in control of that one.
48.1 . Karthikeyan to Malik
Malik watches the ball through to Abdul kadir as it turns off the pitch and goes wide of the stumps.

End of Over 48: 261-9, runrate=5.44, reqrunrate=11.50 (283-9)
Singh 9-0-44-1
Malik* 12 (15 balls)
Singh lali 112 (119 balls)
Last Wicket: Paki b. Karthikeyan 6 (FOW: 225/9)
47.6 1 Singh to Malik
Placed just wide of mid off.
47.5 1 Singh to Singh lali
On the front foot, past Singh, long off running in to field.
47.4 2 Singh to Singh lali
He's drifted down leg and is lucky it's only two runs.
47.3 . Singh to Singh lali
What a drive from Singh lali... but an even better stop from Tau to leave his efforts unrewarded! The fielding side had the trump card on that occasion.
47.2 6 Singh to Singh lali
Singh lali's hit that one so hard he's broken his bat! Wooden shards everywhere!
47.1 1 Singh to Malik
Slower delivery, smacked down to mid off, Paki fielding.

42.4 1 Brydon to Wood
Worked around the legs to deep backward square.
And that's a century for Wood! Well played indeed Sir!

A maiden century for Wood. Took his time, wasn't too good as an opener so I put him back to No 4 where he scored 94 on debut. I think I've found his preferred position :p

43.3 W Arber to Wood
Wood has struck that a long way in the air. Gregory could sign an autograph while he waits for this one to come down. Out!

Not a bad effort on a green pitch.

End of Over 18: 99-0, runrate=5.50, reqrunrate=5.47 (273-8)
Ifill 4-0-27-0
Steyn* 47 (56 balls)
Sonto 47 (54 balls)

Oh dear. Unless Wood really stars and gets his maiden 5-for, we're in trouble. Will be a close game anyway. I'm regretting TIE...but according to previous ratings, crack these two and we're through.

My worst was,

Mangweni skies it up into the air and amazimgly the ball hits his own wicket!! OUT!

That was so annoying!!

My game should be a cruise. Against a newbie team, bowling first, with an attack consisting of Atkinson, Crouch, Rudi, Drayton and Andrews. Have them at 62/3 after 23 overs...

Jesus, it was close. Won by 1 run :) As expected, their middle order collapsed with everyone past the 5th batsman not making above 6 runs, but ooh it was close.

Oakley was the freak bowler, I just found I accidently set him to Very Defensive. Nevertheless, he still went at a rate of 6.9. I knew he was having a bad day after the first 5 overs, when he had about 0/30, but he recovered, taking 4 quick wickets.

Sold out the stadium nicely, might have to think about another ground expansion. But first I need an amazing bowler to replace Oakley, hes never really fired for me since my beginning days, when he used to be good.

Wood eventually did have a good day, taking a neat 4/51, not amazing on a green pitch but it was just what we needed. He deserved the MOTM award he got for his maiden century. Hopefully a few more are along the way.

End of Over 17: 88-1, runrate=5.18, reqrunrate=0.55 (105-10)
Walton 2-0-10-0
Rudi* 21 (25 balls)
Cox 52 (55 balls)

Last Wicket: Spearitt c. Westlake b. Lavigne 12 (FOW: 39/1)
Won't be much longer for me...

i won my game by 254 runs

batted first for the first time this season and was able to score 300 thanks to a 114 by Abdul kadir and an 87 by Kartikeyan.
later on we bowled them out for 46 in 13.1 overs... Maslio getting 3, Alshaun getting 2, Rampaul getting 3, and 2 run outs

good enough to win it quite easily in the end...Lucas(56) performs for me again and so do Clark(75*) and donaldson(42) and the tail batted well as well(24 and 26 by two of my bolwers)...than bowled them out on 132 after that and everyone of my bowlers took a wicket but most impressive was spector who bolwed 10 over, 30 runs for 3 wickets...but the MOM award went to Clark for his brilliant 75* of 71...all in all a very tidy match...below are the ratings...

Pakistani Legend Sri Krishna Team
Top Order: mediocre feeble
Middle Order: feeble woeful
Lower Order: abysmal worthless
Seam Bowling: mediocre feeble
Spin Bowling: mediocre feeble
Fielding: feeble feeble

My guys played well to win a 3rd game against Challengers XI. Man of the match knock of 63 for Chinthaka, his 4th half century in consecutive games. We were bowled all out for 153 by Ifill mainly, he took 4-29. Challengers XI all out for 136. Riaan took 3-30 and Nedd 3-36. Kekelstso got 56 before Slaytor bowled him. They got to 110-4, and collapsed completely.

A good, close game in the end. My bowlers did the job, I was particularly happy with my trainee, Slaytor, took 2-36 in his 2nd match. He could be a really good player after some more training.

So far in my friendly today I have taken 3 wickets. All of thm caught by the keeper, 2 of which were dropped by the slip and the other bounced of the slips leg!!!

How bizarre!!!

Aura (Voldemort) is off to a flying start against me batting first:
End of Over 15: 98-1, runrate=6.53
Andrews 3-0-17-0
Wijenayake* 48 (43 balls)
Dharmasena 45 (43 balls)

Last Wicket: Alnwick st. Rheams b. Rudi 0 (FOW: 0/1)
Hoping Crouch and Tuckett can pull this back for me, or that my batting fires as it seems I might be chaing a large target...

15.6 W Crouch to Wijenayake
Crouch has decieved Wijenayake with a change of pace and it has looped back for an easy caught and bowled.
That helps :)

16.5 W Andrews to Duminda
Acrobatic catch from Rheams there!
I'm back :)
