had a great game today...jus the practice i needed before facing Briggs...

Batting first i scored 346/4, Karthekeyan getting 150 off 128, Hocking getting a run a ball 79, and Abdul kadir getting 52 off 56

and then bowling....Alshaun and Masilo finishing the game in 10 overs and sending the oposition back to the pavilion for the score of 18. Alshaun picked up 6 for 7 runs and Masilo picked up 4 for 10

now i am looking forward towards playing briggs team:)

Won as expected, by a decent 125 runs. Lovely maiden century by Kekeletso, Edwards chipped in with a zippy 50 off 40 balls, Wood hit a fantastic 110 off 89, only his second century, and a damn good one. Bocks made 31 no off 22 balls, and probably would have scored 150 given half a chance.

Some bowlers didn't impress, but the notable ones were Ifill, my spinner, who took a fine 4/42 on a green pitch! and Hignett really showed that he preferred bowling 5th with season best figures of 2/28.

good win embi...as for ur spinners performing on green pitchs, there r many teams with spinners who perform on green pitchs...i have 2 spinners and they all perform on the green pitch:p

Orders set for the game between me and Old Wulfs. Not expecting a win from my team with the team that FreddieFans got, but any sort of decent achievement will be satisfying.
I've asked my skipper to bowl first, so that we actually have some sort of game :p Hopefully FF will try and bat first two, so I dont get bowled out for 30 and he chases it down in 3 overs :D

I tend to bowl first too :p And my bowling's easily my weak point, I'm not going to bowl you out for under 200, I shouldn't think, considering it's a flat pitch.

I'm actually playing my first team as I couldn't be bothered to change anything. If you were playing me in a league match, this is the side you'd be facing.

I'm playing Hampton CC and duly trashing them with a runrate of over 6 an over with the openers going strong.
These are Hume's figures this season

Batting M I R n.o. Ave SR HS C st 50s 100s
Season 17 17 966 2 64.40 91.56 138 18 4 2 5

Just brilliant stats, and he's still going strong at a ripe old age of 27. Can you beleive he's only a feeble wicketkeeper. He's got very good secondaries and I think that's what's making the difference. I'm still hesitant to play Allardyce, who's a competant keeper and has got equally good secondaries. I just think Hume is doing a great job. 23 dismissals from 17 games for a feeble keeper!

10.1 W Otto to Kekeletso
OUT! Easy as you like. It wasn't the best of shots from Kekeletso, but let's give the bowler some credit. He pushed that through a little bit quicker and he got his reward as the stumps went tumbling.

Bit later than I was hoping for the first wicket, but it's come eventually. Partnership of nearly 50 gives Embi's lot a solid start to the game.

End of Over 14: 60-2, runrate=4.29
Hemmings 2-1-2-1
Wood* 4 (6 balls)
Lungile 25 (37 balls)
Last Wicket: Bocks b. Hemmings 3 (FOW: 53/2)

Not doing as badly batting as I anticipated. FF must have a weakened bowling attack :p

Anything is possible from this position, from 70 all out to 250-8. Im betting it will be closer to the former :p

15.1 6 Hemmings to Lungile
As Hemmings bowled that Lungile was turning around and he has reverse swept it all the way for six!

Woah, 32 off 40 balls so far is what I'd consider a decent score for this game :)

Stiles on, hopefully he'll bowl well. I've only recently started bowling him in matches and I've yet to have him take more than 2 wickets, hopefully he can get some today.

End of Over 17: 76-2, runrate=4.47
Stiles 2-0-9-0
Lungile* 34 (45 balls)
Wood 11 (16 balls)
Last Wicket: Bocks b. Hemmings 3 (FOW: 53/2)

I'm happy with that, just realised that FFs bowling is nowhere near as good as his batting, but still against mediocre/feeble bowling on a green pitch its not that bad.
Not going to win this one, unless FF gets an unlucky Battrick collapse as happened to the Jeanz at this very ground last week, so my winning streak of 8 games won't last much longer. Nevermind.

I know, FFs bowling is weakish. But he has good players, just not as good as the batsmen. I'd expect Stiles to be a lot better, and di you sell Otto?

It's a green pitch? I'm getting the display bug, info says it's flat. I'm not doing so well all of a sudden :p

Its been green for the past 2 months :p
However, it has played like a flat before, so who says its a display error? :p

Anyway, FFs keeper Basson brings up our 100 with a dodgy fumble :D

End of Over 21: 101-2, runrate=4.81
Stiles 4-0-20-0
Lungile* 45 (56 balls)
Wood 22 (30 balls)
Last Wicket: Bocks b. Hemmings 3 (FOW: 53/2)

Nope, Otto's still there, opened today as usual. I'm a bit worried about Stiles, I think he should be bowling better than he is. Ah well, he's on two bowling nets so he should be improving pretty quickly. Same goes for Stone. My bowling's got a long way to go, but it's getting there.

22.2 W Stiles to Lungile
Straightforward outside edge into Basson's gloves.

No dodgy fumble's there :p
