BTW, can someone say what actually is the difference (in the powers) between a Moderator and Staff member?

Well as a staff member I have full permission to use your account in any way I please. I also now have full permission to send spam to your email, and to try and infect some sort of worm into your PC. I couldn't do that before!

I think it is that Mods are just for a certain forum where they can do everything they can there while staff members can just do it anywhere (like a global mod).

There's a few extra forum wide permissions for Staff, like the ability to give infractions, over Moderators.
