Cricket 22 General Discussion thread (Use bug report thread for issues/bugs/crashes | Patch notes in first post)

Is anyone getting AI nicking the ball to keeper or slips. Zero for me
Go to the slider thread, use the England set up, grassy medium pitch, try and drive wide outside off stump to balls that aren't full or with batsmen that aren't settled.

You'll feel like James Vince in no time :thumbs

For a good example, click here. There's a few other wickets mixed in, but you get the idea.

After the patches i have noticed that if we make late timing shot , balls goes in air every time

Max speed is the ball physics - so it makes it so a ball is bowled at a higher real speed for the sake of physics of bowling. Bowling visual speed basically is like just fast forwarding or slowing down the visual, without adjusting the actual physics. Previously it was slightly changing both on the same slider, but we felt it better to separate them, and then it's just a matter of preference as to what aspect of bowling speed you're wanting different. I think for most just changing visual speed is the better option.
This being said- would lowering 'Max Speed' and jacking up 'Visual Speed' aid in fast bowler swing movement? (other than the obvious swing movement slider)

Are the vests/jumpers only for test playing nations?

As can't see a jumper option in the kits I assume with custom teams or downloaded teams that they won't wear a vest etc?

Depends on which bowlers - there's a ball speed range where swing would be optimal - so lowering max speed might move some in or out of the speed range where swing is maximised. The visual obviously would only help to bring the apparent speed up closer to offset reducing a max speed, but wouldn't change movement itself.

Vests/jumpers are only used when playing First Class/Test matches, regardless of team.

just checking if tomorrow’s patch would address batting shots and sound issue?
Would need to be a bit more specific there, I know there's been some further batting shot tuning - including some stuff around straight drives, but "sound issue" is quite vague.

Can you check this one?
Running between the wickets will be substantially improved in the next patch.

Thanks @MattW

Shots - besides the straight drives, the backfoot punches have disappeared and it plays forceful late cuts, the on drives have lost power
Sounds - Earlier the shot sounds were unique to various shots which has changed altogether apparently after the recent patch - most of them sound the same & a few have disappeared. This has also brought the vibration impact on PS5 controller down substantially

A ticket was submitted for the above few days back. Does this answer your question?

I'll run this past the one doing the batting tuning, but I'll have a play around with some of those other shots as well.

I'll mention that to the sound team, but I'm not directly aware of changes made in that area.

That's a good starting point for me.

Just to note - in case people wonder why I'd ask for a ticket number - I don't see tickets unless I have been directed to a specific one by the support team or someone mentioning it. A support ticket might end up escallated to me, but I'm not generally reading them unless I've been prompted over a specific one, so if something's in a ticket but I don't know about it, that's not that no one's reading the ticket, just that it hasn't ended up going past me.

You could refer to this ticket for the short sounds. I personally feel that batting shots/animations/sounds was the most satisfying part of Cricket 22 gameplay until the recent patch which has taken it back.

Look forward.

@MattW Can we have slider for Spin bounce and pace separately which applies to all deliveries?
In general sliders exist for things where the gameplay code already had a modifiable variable - so the bounce sliders are for adjusting the strength of the bounce bonus for using a 'bouncer' delivery or increasing/using the bounce input in spin bowling.

The general bounce is related to the pitches, and there's not a separation between the bounce a pitch has when bowling spin or bowling pace, so there's no opportunity for separated slider in there, as the pitch is the pitch, so you have the one pitch bounce slider.

While we are at it, how cool would it be to have the gameplay sliders shareable through the Academy? The experts here can then just share their sliders for others to quickly download and use.
It's certainly an item on the long list of requests.
