Make sure you got the right ones as we previously had found the default fields but any changes to those didnt affect the game as it wasnt using those fields. You can search the field string, try changing the values in the GOB and see if it makes any difference to the fields at all. Good luck.

Right, I have opened all the C2004 default fields, and I am currently working on altering them to stop the AI runout bug... (using the C2002 field editor)

Im using Multiex commander, Ive extracted them okay, but I cant import them into the gob file again... Any suggestions? Im not an expert on any of this...!

Anir, as I mentioned above you may be looking at the dummy field sets. There are a lot of those even when you change wont reflect in the game. We have tried this before and has made no difference to the field sets in the game. Hopefully you arent looking at the same, the best way to find out is to change those in the GOB itself by hex editing and testing the changes. Good luck.

I was thinking that some fields must be stored in the user-colin file or the roster.pak as they are user specific. Being HB the default fields might be in there too for each profile.

I've had a decent look at the fields tonight.
I did the following:
Opened up the text file noname110 and copied the contents. Searched the .gob for the string. What I've found is that there are two strings for each noname file. I'm not sure how these relate to the actual fields. I tried to find a noname file that was obviously being used as an ingame field (noname112 and defend3 in ODI mode are very simular) but as before hex editing the string with new field values made no difference.
Goldenarm has posted about 150 different text files and by my calculation there are only 30 default fields in the game (not inc custom). Another thing to note is that the computer seemingly has a range of custom fields itself to choose from, it often sets fields for me in tests that aren't in the defaults.
In conclusion I haven't had time to definitively say editing the .gob doesn't change the field at all and unless someone here has changed a substantial amount (20 or 30) we can't say that it doesn't. Opening some of the noname files with the Cricket2002 Field Editor shows fields that I don't recognise from Cricekt2004 which means either the values are slightly different or there's a lot more to find or alternatively EA/HB left all the c2k2 ones in.
This is the last big problem which would vertainly make the game playable if it could be overcome. Anyone with hex editing experience, change lots of fields not just 1 or 2.
Here are some offsets for starters:
noname438: 26163201 and 26468353
noname437: 26161153 and 26466305
noname124: 25827329 and 26030081

I kept my field files from c2002 (above) all these are in c2004 - don't know if this helps or anything, but there you go
