Difference Between Googly and Doosra ??

It's not the ball it's his action..

It could distract the batsman though, if he only does it once per match.

Maybe not covering up the ball but just differing the action, moving the left hand quicker and closer to the bowling hand at delivery.

All worth a try, what's the worst that can happen?

Batsmen learnt to pick Clarrie Grimmett's flipper by listening for the click of his fingers.

In response, Grimmett clicked the fingers of his left hand to confuse the batsman.

All war is based on deception.

That's pretty clever. Who's Grimmett?

I can do a decent doosra, in a similar way to Adarsh. I only bowl it with a tape ball though, with Hard Ball its leggies with googlies. Grip like Offspinner but just roll the fingers the other ways. Comes out a lot slower though.
My friend's googly is an odd one. His legspin action is based on Warne, but his 'googly' is a carbon copy of Muralis offbreak! But by the time you notice the action, it is too late, as it is about 5 times faster than his legbreak!

I don't know much about the doosra, but googlies are easier to bowl if you practice well. I remember someone at KSCA, Bangalore told me how to grip the ball and turn it slightly the other way (to bowling legspin).

The good thing is that, googlies are possible on normal tennis balls, making it easier for practice.

All I know is that I can bowl a ball which will turn some way or the other.:p

lol

its crazy, there are actually many more types a leg-spinner can bowl. But its hard to describe them...and they are, in most cases, similar to the already known ones.

I have a sort of zooter/backspinner which I roll out my palm. Has a similar effect if you use it like the flipper, or my other favourite trick is to flight the ball really high, which tricks the batsman into thinking it will bounce, when it won't.
This has turned into a sort of spinners variations thread!

In an over , I see to it that no 2 deliveries are the same.
And it is the release of the ball that does the trick for me.
