I installed DirectX 11 yesterday on my Vista SP2 and I am happy that I did this. After installing, I found few changes:

Games rendering very fast
Games starting and closing very fast
High GFX games like AC09 are performing better.

Anyone has tried this yet?

How to upgrade DirectX to DirectX11?
Take a look at this post.

Any download link. I used web installed and my version is still DX10

First download this script and run it. You should also have either Windows 7 or Windows Vista SP2.

After this run, windows update in Vista and it will upgrade DirectX to 11.

A good stuff for your blog:p

You're welcome:laugh

Wow, dude, you made that?!
Nah! I just downloaded the original file from Microsoft and renamed it. I did it because the original file is simple but complicated for noobs.

I downloading that thingy you uploaded but nothings changed. The update isn't under any of the Windows Update tabs. Click the attachment.

It's probably something nooby that I haven't done I reckon'.

You mind posting a link to that man? I can't find anything from MS's site for some weird reason. =)
Sure! Here is the original MS Download link.
Download details: Platform Update for Windows Vista - Beta Download Script (KB971644)

First of all, you need Windows Vista SP2 installed. If it is installed then after running the script, just go to Windows Update. Then click again "Check for Updates". Than it will show a new update with title "Platform update for Windows Vista". I hope it will help you.

I see your desktop is arranged nicely :p

I can never work with an untidy comp...

As far as I know no one has noticed any improvements with older games on installing DX11. DX11 uses the same files as DX10.1 for older games, and the same ones as 9.0c for even older games...

That's true but I see some difference in Ashes Cricket 2009.
