the epicentre was at a place called muzaffarabad, which is in the pakistan controlled kashmir. the devastation though spreads right across pakistan, afghanistan and india sadly. i pray for your friends.

Words cannot express what sorrow I feel. I have many relatives living in Lahore and Okara and thankfully they are all safe. I was on my way to work when I heard about this, the toll at the time had already reached 3,000. I came back 12 hours later to find out it had exceeded 20,000! My prayers are with all who lost friends and family in the quake.

BTW, it was a bit comforting to see all the countries offering help without wasting any time.

You're right about this. Everywhere where I am reading this it says 30.000 and they're expecting more.

nature takes its way .. it hurts. i often ask myself, if this is a ploy by the one watching over us to populate accordingly, instead of killing and ruining the lifes of thousands upon thousands, why not remove persons like rapists, terrorists and criminals? innocent, precious lifes are being lost. its not just here too. all over the world its happening and has happened. the tsunami of earlier this year, the hurricane devastaion in the states, and now this in the subcontinetal region of asia. it just hurts, very sad. sickening article as well zex, **** like that makes my blood boil and heart drop.

Even though the quake heavily affected the military's infrastructure, they've done a great job thus far. In Katrina's case, the forces would've responded better had they been in the country.....but that's another discussion for another topic.

Sorry to here about your friend. Death toll is now estimated at 33.000.

Some people didn't have aid yet. Muzaffarabad was finally reached by some searchers yesterday and also some other parts.

People in Indian Kashmir are also getting angry. Death toll there is 1300.

I can't believe it. In the previous more then 80.000 people has lost their lives. And now another earthquake has struck the same region.

Unfortunately that can happen, the plate tectonic movement is incredibly powerful, It moved the continents from the 'super continent' 300 million years ago, it creates the himalayas and makes them grow by year.
