Story England's Road to Glory or Disaster ?(A Multimember story thread)

Some great smashing batting from England tail took England to a very good total of 162/9 in 20 overs. England smashed 62 runs in last 5 overs. 33 of them were contributed by a brave inning from Giles.

In 16th over, England resumed from 100/7 with Giles and Hoggard on crease. They made their intention very clear by smashing right from the start by picking constant gaps with some slog boundaries. Hoggard made 16 before he was caught by Ponting in deep off Symonds. Hermison came in next and continued the firework with Giles. Giles hit 6 boundaries in his inning of 33 before falling to second last delivery of inning when he was clean bowled by Symonds. Anderson smashed another boundary off only ball he faced and finished the inning on 162/9 in 20 overs.

Yeah Australia made a silly decision to bowl with spinners in the death overs and paid the price with such a big total.

Its been a long time,but I have a little bit of spare time,just enough to squeeze 5 overs in.I hope that other member's continue the game thereafter.Thank You.

POOR START

The English bowler's got off to the worst start possible with Hoggard conceding 24 runs in the first over of the Aussie innings and Flintoff conceding 20 in the second,the main aggressor being Gilchrist.The Enlgish bowler's were clearly rattled and bowled wayward conceding wides,bowling no-balls and short deliveries.

Luck wasnt going their way either with a missed catching chance just falling short to the fielder at deep fine-leg.

Finally in the third over Hoggard with a brillinat inswinging yorker dismissed Jaques.He soon outfoxed ponting as Pietersen caught a dolly at covers.

But Gilchrist continued his aggression as he neared a record quick half-century.Giles was brought on the 5th over and bowled well conceding just 5 runs.

I was amazed at how well england bowled in these 5 overs. flintoff and giles kept it tight and picked up the wicket of Gilchrist on 49 & Katich on 10.

Aus are 80/4 after 10 overs next person can u post some screenies before u start batting my game is stuffed
