I'm like Sanjay Manjrekar on commentary earlier disagreeing with Nasser Hussain but just not letting it go.^ Haha, you're not letting go of Rishab Pant any soon, are you?
Vijay's not had a particularly good year, average has dropped below 40 and I agree with Nasser Hussain, England seem to have worked him out since Rajkot bowling shorter to him. All that said, like you alluded to it he seems to be carrying a back injury of some kind.Excellent comeback by England. It won't be easy for the openers. Vijay looked a bit off there in the field. Hope he doesn't let his failure in the last couple of matches ride on him. He's a very very good player. The first innings cost England in this match. They need their much capable tail to wag. I'm happy though that we are seeing some competition and not insanely one sided matches.
Vijay was standing tall light Root and other English batsmen do so has done some adjustment but I think that back is troubling him. Not to take his side, he has not done too much as you said but you also definitely need to be having quick reflexes when facing short stuff from fast bowlers and the sore back doesn't help. It will be interesting to see if Rahul gets fit and Saha doesn't, will India drop Vijay and let him nurse his back a bit.Vijay's not had a particularly good year, average has dropped below 40 and I agree with Nasser Hussain, England seem to have worked him out since Rajkot bowling shorter to him.
