Great Game of Cricket. Pak really played well and were quite confident right from the start. However, they are on a serious edge as far as there bolwing options are concerned. They need to induct one extra bowler by dropping one Batsman. I go for the droppage of Umar Akmal not because that he didnt perform today but the fact is that Afridi and Razzaq can do the job well even having no Umar Akmal in the side because such a hard-Hitter like Razzaq is coming at number 8th. I mean today we were lucky that Misbah played some shots at the powerplay, you cant always rely on Umar Akmal.

There are some things in the fielding and bowling in which Pakistan has to look into and also they should have a look at their batting order.

Next game with canada will give them a good chance to try out an extra bowler. Also that game should be rest for Shoaib Akhtar as well.

Pakistan were always the darkhorses for this tournament. This win will get them on the radar now. SL really were missing Malinga, they might even be tempted to go 3 spinners in their next big match.

From the start of the tournament my position was im backing AUS to win, but PAK are my second option to win. Today's performance from PAK sort of justified this (although their fielding was a bit crappy).

SRI of course need Malinga fit ASAP.

Sri Lanka made a competitive chase and their bowling at the death, particularly from Kulasekera, had a real impact on Pakistan's score.

The effect of winning the toss was surely greater than the difference between the two sides. In the past decade at RPS, the toss has correlated with a 75% win probability in day/nighters. If the roles were reversed, Sri Lanka would almost certainly have won.

Drop Kamran Akmal, get Umar Akmal to keep and replace Umar Gul with Riaz and I can guarantee we will make it to the finals. Just imagine Kamran Akmal dropping a Tendulkar or a sehwag in a knockout game. It will surely cost us big time if we continue having that clown marginalizing our chances. Also we could play an extra bowlers or a batsman depending upon opposition or pitch.

Hmm why would you want to replace an average keeper with his bro who is nothing more than make shift?. I can understand why PAK fans who always be nervous about Kamran behind the stumps, but his bro wont solve the problem. Maybe if Haider was still around, it would though.

Plus why would you drop Gul?, thats your best bowler & arguably the best death bowler in the world these days. I would think you would want to have both Gul & Riaz in the same team.

^Gul is very inconsistent. He often comes up with that 7 overs for 70 runs spell. He is a great bowler but he does not realize that himself. You only need to hit him for one boundary and he will get confused. Yesterday he went for 7 an over when all other bowlers were doing well. And I don't think anyone can do worse than Kamran Akmal. He is not a specialist keeper. Pakistan tried umar Akmal with gloves in a few T20s and he did not drop anything. He looked better than his bro tbh.
