Well you'll have another warney coming up then.
Well lets not deviate from the topic or we'll have a mod close it down.

What can the ICC do here but ? Improve or set up schools for women umpires ?

I think if the ICC are serious about Women officiating cricket matches, then they should try them out in lower scale cricket events and tournaments such as the ICC trophy or maybe even the Super Series should one take place again.

i dont think anyone would be watching the game,

after 25 overs ask anyone what the score is and they wont know

heck even batsmen would stop hitting the ball straight

Imagine if the Ump' was a nice looking female, there would be whistles, etc. coming
from every direction, that would be very distracting to players and the Umpire.

Also, the ICC could take people whistling, etc. at the female Ump's as sexual
harassment, and that could drive people away from the games because of fear
of being charged. Catching the people whistling and yelling out stuff would be difficult,
if not, near impossible, unless they're spotted doing it by a Police Officier, etc., CCTV
would be useless due to whistling and yelling requiring very little body movement.

Another thing. What if a female Ump' is pregnant and told she can no longer
Umpire any more matches until she's given birth. She could start a lawsuit
against the ICC for discrimination. This sort of thing has happened before in sport,
even when it was at the benefit of the pregnent woman and her unborn child.

I don't think there would ever be female Ump's in International Cricket,
robots would be doing the job long before they get a chance to.

Three steps to getting female umpires
1. Get Superman to slow down the earths rotation so we can have 30 hours of daylight a day.
2. Get third umpire to decide every decision in a match, we've got so long to play, why not?
3. Get a few female umpires in. If they're not doing anything because of third umpire, may as well get a bit of eye candy.

Would also be interesting to see if Warney stops fielding at slip and moves to square leg because a female umpire is there.

It shouldn't matter - but it will. I highly doubt we will see a woman umpire test or ODI cricket - we haven't for the last 100-odd years, and I don't think it is going to start.
