No need for any change. This is a tournament for the Indian players. The current international stars are bringing in enough hype and popularity and also the quality of the domestic players is bound to improve a lot since they are playing alongside international stars. With more IPL's, the quality of cricket might improve

Noway, this tournament is only for money. Cut international players from it and we will see the attendance. But for Bigbash and English T20, doesnt matter about overseas players so much. Both of the countries has enough cricketers in it to form a 6-8 teams. India hardly can for 4 teams. Without Overseas players IPL is a Dud.

WORLD CHAMPIONS added 2 Minutes and 24 Seconds later...

4 players are enough. The owner should pick 4 awesome players and maybe 4 players who are developing into superstars. You can't pick 10 of the best cricketers in the world and then expect all of them to play together. This can't happen.

Dhoni is the smartest captain in the IPL, IMO. He's got the best Indian players in his franchise. And decent Int's. It all balances really well. And it is completely opposite for Delhi & Kolkata, and its the worst for Deccan.

What the best think i liked about Chennai Super Kings is that they always go allrounders :) they have the sense that a handy allrounder is better than a pure bowler and batsmen. I just looked into our side, hardly we have any decent allrounders :doh

Maybe the Champions league T20. you can have an extra player in your (if it's an IPL) team.

IPL? the first person would spring up in bold text "This is INDIAN PREMIERE LEAGUE" mate.

/end. (not really though, *cough*) (;))

The way Modi is continuing, it will take no time to become International Premiere League :p

No i think we need only 4 international players in the Playing XI since this league is to bring up all the talented youngsters who has the ability to play in the International level

Forget five, cut it down to three IMO. There isn't any need for ten internationals per squad either, I'd cut that in half and save my team money that doesn't need to be spent. A good example of wasted money is Kyle Mills of the Mumbai Indians. He hasn't even played a IPL game yet and he's cleaned up for two seasons.

As Howsie squad (Edit: Said), before worrying about restrictions in the playing XI, cut down the internationals in each squad.

Each side only needs about 6 in each side. The four current ones, and two replacements.

EDIT: Lol, Howsie squad.

Yeah, pick 5, the youngsters already have the domestic season to show their talent. The IPL alone has only given a chance to Manpreet Gony, others made their way through performances in FC or List A cricket.

Oh then what about V.Kholi (Season 2 finisher for Royal challangers) & Y.Pathan (Season 1 top performer with bat for Royals)

Dude, Virat Kohli did not make it because of the IPL. He averages 50 in FC cricket and 50 in List A cricket. Also, he had been on the selector's (long term) radar for quite a while after the U19WC. Maybe Yusuf Pathan, but he's crap. It's not like we found anything spectacular in him.
