The "4 international player rule restriction" is just the BCCI flexing its muscle as the defualt leader in the global game, since the ICC is not a proper governing body.
The rule overall makes absolutely no sense. In football just because the premiership is called the English Premier League didn't make England put a international players restriction.
If local Indian players old or young are good enough to make the various franchise teams starting XI's - then they should play. The quality young players like a Manish Panday who actually have a future in the Indian national team, will still learn alot by rubbing shoulders with the international stars. You dont need a rule restriction to find talent.
How will restricting proper international players from playing make a joke player like Kamran Khan, Amit Uniyal, Harmeet Singh etc etc etc who never play for India a better player?:doh
