If i wanted to move a recorded tv programme from our sky digital cable box to my pc, how, and what is the cheapest way to do so?

I use a TV tuner card. All of the them (even the basic ones) have the record function.
The only drawback is that the AVI file created is huge in size. For me, 1 GB per minute (not joking). So, for recording a 60 minutes program, one must have 60 GB of free space in his hard disk. That's pretty difficult for them who believe in splitting.

But, a feature in my TV tuner software is of separating the video files after a certain span of time with the facility of selecting new destinations for each of them. :)

Majority of TV tuners leave Sky recordings unreadable.

Gas, if you google replacing Sky+ hard driver you will be taken to a site called skyuser.com, they are very good at this kind of thing.
