FTP: From the Pavilion general chat

I've kind of neglected my youth side. Sorta put together an XI last minute before my youth match. Won by 156 runs, although this was against a computer controlled team which I heard are rubbish. So that takes a bit of the shine away from the win.

I lost my youth match by 3 runs :facepalm

They were going pretty well at the start, 141/2 after 18 overs, but after that I kept on taking wickets before a final blast from them took them to 292. Despite good contributions from Monty and Arnold, we couldn't reach the total, with Arnold unbeaten 4 runs short of his century. The last ball was a wicket; if it had been a 4 we would've won.

Good victory by us in my youth game by 93 runs. Young continued his great start to his career with 116* off 80 while Murch was another high scorer continuing his great form for the season with 62 while Khan hit 50 off 40 and Whiteman hit 45 off 21 at the end of the innings to get to 332/6 from our 40 overs. We didn't bowl great but kept them to only 6 runs an over, them finishing 239/7, well short. All bowlers took at least 1 wicket with Baldry and Reshma taking 2 each. Am now top in the league, one of the 2 undefeated teams but higher on NRR. It's the top of the table clash next week and it will probably be a run fest after their last game, scoring 271/0 from 37.5 overs chasing down one of the middle placed teams in the competition's total. I'll probably be looking to score 280+ to have a good chance at winning.

I've got my match against Hedger tomorrow, going to get wasted :laugh

Yes, you are. I'm only playing one youth player, that being Michael Young who will be opening the batting. I'm guessing Saurashtra Lions, Hedger's Team and Agrid South Africa will win their opening games.

Agreed. I've lost all games I've played against Chewie so it seems I'm getting the wooden spoon. :laugh All for fun I suppose.

Dont you go jinxing me now!!! LOL :facepalm

I'm not going too badly, but then again the pitch is dry and it's windy.

Hedger's 127 off 23 overs, with my wrist spinner bowling very well (5-2-9-1).

Young's still in there, 47 off 73 so he's going well.

Hedger scored 312/8, with Young getting 70 (104), and Ali hitting out at the end with 63 (38). Curtin, my wrist spinner took 10-2-37-2, which was pretty good.

I think I'm gonna fall about 100 runs short :p

Heck, look at Ali in Hedger's team. 63 off 38. If it weren't for that innings you could have held him off to a much lower total.

Got my match later today. I'm not holding out too much hope.

I'm not going to last for much longer now. My wicket-keeper is my last recognised batsmen left - I have three bowlers to go who are all dreadful or atrocious with the bat lol

Chewie added 0 Minutes and 58 Seconds later...

I've had a lot of leg byes though :D

Hedger's Team won by 115 runs

Ouch. I'm pretty sure my margin of defeat will be larger. :p

End of over 15 (6 runs) - Saurashtra Lions(58-1) RR 3.87
G. Gambhir 20 (31b) , V. Sehwag 20 (41b) , R. Thorpe 3-0-20-0

Not a good start as expected...

Wanderers added 4 Minutes and 22 Seconds later...

16.1 W Thorpe to Gambhir : Nicked and gone! A simple catch for Ali, Gambhir does not look too happy about that shot.
G. Gambhir c C. Ali b. R. Thorpe 22 (34b 2x4 0x6) SR:64.71

Lost Gambhir... Bowler friendly pitch---- I hate it...

Good win, although unlucky not to win by more. Young, Byrne and Ali batted well to get us to that total of 312 and all the bowlers bowled well to bowl Chewie CC out well short.
