Gilchrist hopes Twenty20 doesn't lose its fun factor

Only reason I want to watch it is because I haven't had any bloody cricket since April!!!!!

Oh poor you :(. It can't be that bad, it brings in big crowds and makes a ton of money for the clubs etc.

No I agree, it is not going away and as long as it doesn't kill the game or take the places of ODI or Tests I do not care but if they start rescheduling things for 20/20 games I will get angry. ODI and Tests should be first priority.

I think its a common misconception that twenty20 happens how you describe it left_hander, its not all about big hits and improvisation, classical players can do well too if they are top notch. A first class player is a first class player no matter what he's playing. What I really like about twenty20 is that the really good players have gone up a level because of it.

Plus we can see all the shots young players have.
Luke Wright is a perfect example.

I think many people have been decieved. It has helped bowlers bowl constant yorkers and batsmen are finding out ways to hit them. I just don't think it has helped one day cricket. 300 run scores are becoming the norm in one day cricket. It has led to less contest between bat and ball.

Finally I am lodging myself into a debate :D

If bowlers want to just work on yorkers, there is a special place. It is called the nets.

Okay smartarse.

There is heaps of difference between a few guys watching you bowl in the nets then around 50,000 people either cheering you on or trying to get in your head and making you feel nervous. Completely different scenarios.

I bet you couldn't concentrate with those many people hoping you stuff up.

Yeah its easy to bowl yorkers in the nets, but in a real game, real pressure, real batsmen who are also determined they will need to bowl the perfect yorker.

Well I doubt I will ever get the chance so you can't say I can't unless I try. Sorry mate.

If you can't then you aren't going to make it as a professional sportsman. Part of being a professional is learning to ignore the crowd and the pressure. In fact really good sportsmen revel in it.

I agree with your statement. Do you think they do special training in ignoring unwanted sound. maybe they ask them to train next door to an airport and see if they can concentrate.

Hehe haha.

What's the points of that? They've still got no pressure. Maybe if they had to do 400 push ups if they didn't get 9/10 yorkers in a row. And they could get the barmy army to come or some people like that to hurl abuse at them. :p

I'd like to make myself available for abusing the Australian team during their practice sessions if they'll pay my airfair ;)

I admit that was a bit slack but anyway.

Personally I would find it hard to concentrate if people are yelling and screaming at me. Others might not but that is just me.
