At their best Haydos was far more devastating than Sehwag. He was also very much consistent. This is one thing Sehwag lacks.

I'd say scoring a triple century at better than run a ball is devastating enough .

Talk about biased Indians! Sehwag winning! LOLOLOL!!!!!

Yeah but Hayden was more devastating all the time. It doesn't matter if you can hit 50 off 30 balls then get out in Test Cricket. That's a failure and a win for the fielding side.

If you go back to the 8th post in this thread, you will see that Colin, assuming he was being serious, voted for Sehwag and he is not Indian, as far as my knowledge goes.

Sehwag is no pushover, himself. It's a bit silly comparing them now, though, since their careers didn't span the same period. A better judgment can only be made after both have finished their respective careers.

Yeah, and the point Mukund was making is that he scored a 300 at over a run a ball! He has the ability to score 300's at a brisk rate, not just fifties. In fact, up until recently, his conversion rates was one of the best going around, as well as the fact that when he scores a century, he usually scores a big one (150+).

He isn't a slogger, he is just more aggressive than most, a bloody talented one at that. He may not move his feet very well but he more than makes up for it with his hand & eye coordination.

Its quite tough because they both average 50 in tests and are both similar style players. I'm with Sohum and that it would easier to make a judgement when both of them have finished their careers.

Well, I'm not too sure about that. Their personalities are different, as such their styles are different. Hayden looks to impose himself and his batting upon the bowlers. While Sehwag just stands in the crease and keeps whacking them. The main difference between Hayden and Sehwag is that Sehwag is basically a one-way train, once he gets going he stops for nothing. And he is definitely a lot more pleasing to watch.

I thought it was tight to ban Ben. How long is it for? He's just a bloke that is very passionate about his cricket. A bit one eyed, perhaps but he's still a very good contributor to this forum and can't see why he should be banned.
