Hell in a Cell

I'm sorry Will, but if you don't like wrestling then don't come in this thread and start calling it all fake and unreal. The hazards are real and WWE and TNA superstars put their bodies on the line in order to entertain fans. It is acting, but they still risk serious injury and put their bodies on the line in order to give the fans a great show. I really respect them for that and you should too.

Im sorry but as much as you want to convince yourself that this is all as serious as they say it isnt. It wasnt a broken shoulder, a broken shoulder would be impossible to play on with instead its a 'seperated shoulder' which means hes either disclocated it or torn some ligaments in it. Falling 25 foot will hurt yes, but he falls perfectly onto a table that simply buckles when he lands. These guys are taught how to fall correctly and if you were chucked onto a real table from that height it would snap in the area you land on and maybe snap in each corner. But that table collapses like a cardboard box that has both ends taken out. This breaks his fall greatly.

As for going through the cage, yes that does look genuinely painful but wasnt bad enough for them to stop the fight. If he was hurt on either fall they would have stopped it straight away. Their contracts wouldnt let them go back in if it was going to hurt them severely. I also doubt he broke his jaw and played on.

Wrestling is acting and that video is a great example of acting. Your never going to get a genuine video from the wwe as they spin everything to make them look the buisness.

Exactly. But i'm guessing Duded will say the injuries are fake and it was all planned and hes making the injuries up.

The going through the top of the cell wasn't planned. As they both actually say in the video. He landed awfully when he got put through the cell, all on his shoulder.

It was planned (trust me on this one), Mick says it wasn't plan to get himself out of hot water with his wife.

No it really wasn't planned. The wife thing was just temporary, but it wasn't planned. He was supposed to just fall on the chair on top of the cage, but it fell through and he landed head first on top of the chair, which knocked his teeth out and broke his jaw.

Wrestlers are insane.

There is a massive market for real wrestling videos or 'shoots'. You're out of your depth here. Kayfabe went out with the 80s and although it is maintained throughout shows, it is largely broken outside shows.

I think Will is just taking the typical attitude of a wrestling hater, someone who knows nothing about the sport. He has been proven wrong here, and people who act like wrestling is just a fake worthless existance annoy me, because thats really not the case. Wrestlers risk bodies and health to entertain fans and whether a fan or not they should be applauded for that.

No it really wasn't planned.

Terry Funk wrote in his autobiography that both falls, including the second one through the cage, were planned. Some sources, including Power Slam magazine and Pro Wrestling Torch, reported that Foley denied planning this bump to placate his wife, who was furious with him after the match.

Why would Funk lie?

Why would Funk lie?

I cannot answer your question, but The Undertaker has been known to say the second fall wasn't planned. I doubt they would plan something like that it was way too violent.

What you are arguing about is one of the most fiercely debated events in professional wrestling. Since it happened, fans, veterans and random people have always argued over whether it was planned or not. You can't come to a conclusion really. You will just be going over facts and evidences until kingdom come.

In the mean time, I think Batista/Taker in the HIAC will stink. Batista will win and it will be a proper gay match.

I disagree. I think it will be a good match and i expect Taker to win. This is due to the Armagedon poster having Batista with the title, then they change it and he doesn;t have the title.

Hell in a Cell matches stopped being any good since people stopped nearly killing themselves in them.
