This will probably end up being merged with the WWE thread, but i think this deserves its own. There have been some cracking Hell in a Cell's over the years.

The most memorable was Mankind vs. Undertaker...

1.The match started on top of the cage, Foley ended up getting thrown off. Everyone believed he was dead. He went through the announce table 25 feet below, and onto the concrete floor. He got stretchered away, but got back up and ran back to the cell and climbed to the top. He had a broken shoulder from the fall.

2. After fighting further on top of the cage, he was chokeslammed onto a chair, which made the top of the cell give way. Foley fell 20 feet onto the hard ring floor, landing on the steel chair also. Doctors got in, and he had suffered concussion, a broken jaw, his teeth had been knocked out and into his nose and he was knocked out for 2 minutes. Undertaker jumped down into the cell, he also had a broken foot.

3.Foley continued the match, using thumbtacks and other hardcore weapons and was then tombstoned by the Undertaker for the win.

A truly legendary match, in which Mankind(Mick Foley) suffered horrific injuries which took him 2 months to recover from. A memorable moment from after the match...Foley said to Taker, did i use thumbtacks, i can't remember. Taker replied, "mick, take a look at your arm.

Yeah I seen that match and it was amazing
The best part was when Mankind fall from the cage

Well to be fair, he did fall 25ft from a cage, through an announce table onto a concrete floor. Most people really would be dead. Undertaker admitted after the match, he thought he had paralyzed him. Then when he through him through the cage, he thought he had actually killed him for real.

People do realise that alot of that fight was setup yer? Like where he walks him to the panel that looks weak and puts him through the middle of it? When he gets thrown off the edge your trying to tell me that it was just on the spot?

Its rehearsed. They have major things they have to do and the rest they just have to fill in. Also that video is faked, they're all done to make the wrestler look really good and add to the drama of this 'sport'.

Both major spots were planned but they still would hurt. It took him two months to recover from the injuries of the match. Planned or not, falling 16ft into a table will hurt.

You can tell it's planned by the way he falls, Foley is the king of taking bumps, and he landed almost perfectly on the table, as much of his body as possible hit the table, to take the strain away from 1 specific place. Wrestling doesnt hurt as much as they say, if you learn to take bumps successfully it wont hurt at all, not normal moves anyway. What a match tho, one of the best matches of all time !!!.

I remember watching that match what a classic it was. I didn't realize how serious that chokeslam was to Foley seeing as this was the WWE.

Firstly your wrong on three accounts. Yes the first fall off the top was planned but whoever you are it would hurt falling 25ft from a cage onto a wooden table and onto the concrete floor.

Secondly, they did not plan the second fall which sent Foley flying through the top of the cage. He was just expected to be chokeslammed onto the steel chair but the panel gave way under the weight.

Thirdly, the video is not faked, this was a live event.

The going through the top of the cell wasn't planned. As they both actually say in the video. He landed awfully when he got put through the cell, all on his shoulder.

This match has to hurt. He broke his shoulder, jaw, knocked out two teeth which went up into his nose, had a concussion and was knocked out cold for 2 minutes.

The ideas are not actually rehearsed. All that happens is the wrestlers get together in the day of the match, and run through a quick plan of what is going to happen. They don't actually rehearse the match word for word. Terry Funk gave Foley most of the ideas and he's an extreme legend.

Im sorry but as much as you want to convince yourself that this is all as serious as they say it isnt. It wasnt a broken shoulder, a broken shoulder would be impossible to play on with instead its a 'seperated shoulder' which means hes either disclocated it or torn some ligaments in it. Falling 25 foot will hurt yes, but he falls perfectly onto a table that simply buckles when he lands. These guys are taught how to fall correctly and if you were chucked onto a real table from that height it would snap in the area you land on and maybe snap in each corner. But that table collapses like a cardboard box that has both ends taken out. This breaks his fall greatly.

As for going through the cage, yes that does look genuinely painful but wasnt bad enough for them to stop the fight. If he was hurt on either fall they would have stopped it straight away. Their contracts wouldnt let them go back in if it was going to hurt them severely. I also doubt he broke his jaw and played on.

Wrestling is acting and that video is a great example of acting. Your never going to get a genuine video from the wwe as they spin everything to make them look the buisness.

The whole point is, we know its acting...wrestling is acting and its very clever. The whole point is, he went through a lot of pain, broke bones etc and carried on. Whoever you are that would hurt, and the video is not edited because the event was shown live on tv. Raw is shown live everyweek. I have been to a live WWE event and its exactly the same as watching it on tv. The know how to do it, and none of it is edited.
