If you want to take quick wickets (At a rate of 3-4 an over) with fast bowlers, here's what you should attempt.

1) Place extra fielders on the off-side. Gully, slips, cover, short cover, point, extra cover etc.
2) Bowl at 70% of the speed
3) Pitch the ball up. A foot before the line of the stumps.
4) Bowl a bit wide, enough for the umpire not to call it a wide.

The batsman will play the square drive off the front foot and get caught 9/10 times.
It works for me everytime on ANY pitch type.
I played against Australia as India at Adelaide - normal pitch. Balaji got 7 for 16 in 2.4 overs. Pathan got 3 for 4 in 2.3 overs.
I conceded 3 wides trying to get the line right.
Australia All Out for 23 in 5.1 overs.

another way to get easy wickets is to use a really good spin bowler and have heaps of people fielding in close. Bowl it on his feet and he will play a late block, this spoons the ball to one of the short fielders. I normally get the other team out for around 10

or use a medium bowler, bowl inswinging deleveries pitched short and slightly wide at really slow pace.

I posted this today on another thread, but:

I've found that "leg theory" works quite well when you are starting out (I've only owned the game for a few days so far). Put as many fielders close in on the leg side as you can get away with (obviously you are only allowed 2 behind square) and bang in a variety of short deliveries on leg stump or thereabouts.
