We try to be as accurate as possible, using the stated FTP up until it runs out, I don't see us not using the FTP as a base in the future.

That's a bit of a dilemma really isn't it. Do you follow what the ICC comes up with (and score points for accuracy), or be a bit creative with the future tours thus making them a bit fairer for teams such as Sri Lanka (and please plenty of folk that way). Fingers crossed the sun-tanned ICC bods sat in their Dubai offices will have some common sense and plan a post 2012 FTP that's both fairer to each country and also produces a reduction in cricket.

The spread of cricket across the playing countries is awful. I think standardised tours (excluding special series possibly) is the way forward.

Bowlers can start off at RFM quicken up to RMF during their prime before fading again back to RFM and if they play for until they are really quite old say 35 drop to even RM.

Is this a mistake or what? :what How can a RFM quicken upto RMF as the sequence is RF->RFM->RMF->RM

These are a few points-:spy:getyou:watchtv:sucks:sucks
1.Yep, agree here. I'm pretty sure we've all agreed that we want to add more leagues. Though we haven't started for 2010 yet, not finished 09 post-release stuff. I think more leagues are a must.
2.There should be some sort of "Youth" league in which youth team players can play in and related to this there could be an Under 19 side for every county which play in this league.
3.Also, how about an ingame player editor? And player creator. It probably never will have visible attributes like in FM and other similar sports-management simulations. That's not how the game works, and it's better for it. It's why it's so successful as you pick a player on merits, not some imaginary numbers that you can see assigned to each player. For those of you who want editors, there are unofficial 3rd party ones, like there is here. I just don't see it working with the game.:doh:doh:doh:doh:doh:doh:doh:doh

Another wish of mine is that we can look up stats for players vs a particular team or in a particular country. It would be a really interesting. Also, the game should record partnerships, highest score, etc for ODIs also.

And as I always say, please allow us to play online with international teams!!!

- I can't quite understand the opposition to visible attribute ratings. If not numbers, there can be letter grades. I would defend it logically saying that when a new player breaks into a County/State/Ranji side, they do not get there based purely on numbers from lower-grade cricket, there is scouting/tryouts involved. I would suggest to have an option where youth players are scouted and the accuracy of their scouting report is dependent on the quality of scouts/amount of money spent on scouts. A similar system is implemented in nearly all sports games, esp. Madden 08 or FIFA 08.

- I would love to see "Player Characteristics." These would not be attributes, but certain characteristics that help individualize each player. Very similar to the "Spin Specialist/ Off side preference" characteristics that ICC has, but more in-depth, and these would affect very specific ratings of the player. For example, Sehwag would be a "Power Hitter" (Enhanced ability to hit sixes), a "Demoralizer" (enhanced ability to affect opposition bowlers' morale), and would have "Amazing Hand-Eye" (Flat-track bully, but prone to getting into trouble in seaming conditions). Yuvraj would also be a "Power Hitter", "Partnership Breaker" (Part-time bowler with the knack of taking wickets), a "Highlight Reel" (ability to pull of spectacular catches and save runs with agile fielding), and have "Nerves of Steel" (Enhanced ability in the final overs of an innings or in a run-chase). There would be bowling/fielding characteristics as well, like Nathan Bracken could be "Dr. Death" (Enhanced ability to bowl in slog/powerplay overs), Brett Lee could have "Express Pace" (Ability to hit 90mph with regularity), Dan Vettori could be a "Wily Fox" (Spinner with subtle variations rather than big turn), while Murali would be a "Big Ripper" (Big Turn). Ricky Ponting would be a "Sharpshooter" (Enhanced ability to hit the stumps from anywhere), while Shane Bond could have a "Rocket Arm" (Great throw from the deep). There could be negative attributes as well, like Gautam Gambhir can be "Butterfingers" (unreliable fielder under pressure) and Ravindra Jadeja can be a "Shaky Finisher" (Opposite of Nerves of steel).

- More stadiums in the game. I think around 50-60 stadiums from the across the world should be represented in the game to give it a more realistic feel. Naturally, I'm not talking about 60 stadiums (All 18 English grounds; 8-10 grounds each from India and South Africa; 6-8 grounds each from the West Indies, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Australia; 2-4 grounds each from Bangladesh and Zimbabwe) graphically, as that would be a huge task, but 60 stadiums in terms of accurate ground conditions and dimensions. E.g. a smallish stadium like the VCA Stadium in Nagpur would be a nightmare for spinners, whereas the bigger Gabba would help the bowlers but also put fielders under more pressure with wide expanses of space for the batsmen. If accurate ground shapes could be implemented, that would be even better.

- Morale/Confidence. If these are already tracked internally in the game, they should also be visible. Practically, any captain/coach can clearly see the telltale signs when his opposition is facing the heat, so the morale rating should be made visible.

- Detailed stat tracking, at the level where Player stats should be tracked according to opposition, home/away, and ground. These can then also be used as tidbits in the gameplay/highlights section, where they can be shown when appropriate. E.g. When Collingwood walks in to bat in an ODI in Mumbai, we can have "Collingwood has scored 2 centuries at Mumbai in 5 ODIs and averages 79 here." Later, when Praveen Kumar comes in to bowl to him, we could have "Kumar has dismissed Collingwood 3 times in 8 matches."

I dont know if it has been mentioned but I would like to see a bit more control of the batsmen. When bowling you have a massive amount of control as to how to set the field, length and line etcetera. Batting ois a bit one dimensional for me and I would like to be able to tweak a bastmens shot range and type a bit more than just on an aggression meter. I dont know if it would work but how about being able to "say" to a batsmen "dont play any hook shots, or play predominantly off-side beacuse of field settings". I am sure there are even better ways of creating more user participation on the batting side of things.

most people expect too much from icc, its likely there wont be much change next edition at all.....

But more stats is always welcome. Many more stats. Cricket is all about stats, i think we as cricket lovers are obsessed by them, so more stat tracking (ave at particular ground, home and away, against opposition) would be awesome.

A career mode perhaps, we're we control one player.

And something that makes stories with ICC on Planet Cricket easier to do :)

Maybe. But don't you feel that ICC has been pretty much the same game since going 3D(and arguably even before that)? Yes, the results engine has gotten progressively more and more accurate, but where are the features?

A game that writes the story for you to post?
Now that would be epic.

I completely agree with you and I've stated this a number of times. There needs to be more control of batsmen. I find that very lacking at the moment. There should also be something along the lines of instructing batsmen to look for singles etc. or aim for boundaries.
