LOL. 2 people have voted for kenya but there is none for New Zealand, and only one for South Africa.

i have not seen any one from south africa in or neither new zealand .... all i can see people from pakistan and aus india england ex but i would have to vote for new zealand because they have some good batting line up and also bowling line up

Pool A: New Zealand vs USA

Toss: USA

New Zealand 347/4 (50 ov) (Astle 145*, Styris 75)
United States of America 137 (42.4 ov) (Oram 5/36)

Result: New Zealand win by 210 runs

Man of the Match: NJ Astle

Points: New Zealand 2, United States of America 0

Pool D: England vs Zimbabwe

Toss: Zimbabwe

England 198/5 (38.0 ov) (Solanki 62)

Due to rain the play will continue tomorrow.

USA won the toss and elected to field! That is utter foolishness. Only a team that has a very strong batting line-up could take such a decision. What made Staple feel he could chase a Kiwi total?

Zimbabwe too seem to have lost their mind. If Aus,NZ,Srl,Eng or even Win elect to chase it would be fine.

But USA,Zim,Ken and Ban have only one way to win. Elect to bat and put a average(220-230) total and then use your meagre bowling resources to take some early wickets. Maintain the pressure and keep taking wickets at regular intervals. Even this way they have only a 50:50 chance but otherwise I say 0.0001:99.999

I think the vast majority of teams will elect to bowl first in this competition if they win the toss due to the conditions with the early starts over here in England. Cool, plenty of dew on the outfield, not easy to bat early on and teams will be hoping to make the most of the early morning swing and seam first.
This was almost (almost) proved right with the USA taking a couple of early wickets against NZ, before the Kiwis undoubted superiority shone through. As you say Ajit, the USA didn't have the strength in depth to capitalize on their early breakthroughs.

Pool D: England vs Zimbabwe

Toss: Kenya

India 290/4 (50 ov) (Ganguly 90, Laxman 79)
Kenya 192/7 (50.0 ov) (Harbhajan 3/33)

Result: India won by 98 runs

Bangladesh 93 (31.3 ov) (Langeveldt 3/17)
