India have bowled very well, but there hasn't been anywhere near the same intent normally shown as well. Feels like proper test cricket for once.

Also this is horrible for Pant if he's broken a finger or something.

Ball not carrying through slips?

Or Jaiswal dropping once gain?

Runrate of just 2.0 in the 2nd session so far.

What kind of ball is this now?

Joe Root became the first player in cricket history to score 3,000 Test runs against India.

Seems like a graft sort of day for both sides. Very stop start. Attritional play all around. Quite traditional really. Pitch seems dry so gonna be an important 4 days ahead for the spinners especially Shaoib Bashir

Typical test match cricket, as it should be. England playing in this manner after ages. India needs to get Stokes and Root early, if they are to stop England from posting in excess of 400. While England still have Jamie Smith and Woakes to follow who can take the score past that mark, it would be important for the Indian bowlers to step up and get in the wickets column.

Honours shared I would say. India didn't get many wickets but England didn't run away either.

England showed restraint while batting so they can reap the rewards today. A lot depends on the first session today to know whose gonna end up on top.
