I think you guys are missing the point here. Is resting Bumrah more important than attempting a win and levelling the series? I certainly don't think so. Bumrah's inclusion could help India, but if they aren't going to play him in an important game, he might as well not play at all.

Proof is in the pudding of the BGT of why he is being rested, same situation and India told him to push through and he couldn't. That decision arguably cost them the match and the series. But please for the rest of the world, if India want to force retire Bumrah, we won't complain!!

A lot of Indians would agree that they would want to see India win World Cups, WT20s and Champions Trophy over a lopsided WTC. True for some it might be the pinnacle of their careers, however I don't see the Indian public going mad if we were to win the WTC somehow. The odds on that happening int he current cycle are quite dim.

Based on this, as an Indian fan, where would I like to see Bumrah- away from Test cricket. He will be a wasted talent if he's not going to be fully utilised there.

However,if he is still playing,we need to ask questions to the NCA (who have been catastrophic under a lax Laxman) as to why a player keeps breaking down frequently? We have seen the likes of Ishant, Umesh run in for consecutive matches on tough tours a few years ago + turn up for the ODIs that followed. So, as fans, we are well within rights to question the fitness capacity of a prime bowler, whose non availability puts India on edge. Mind you this is the very reason he quoted for not accepting the Test captaincy. While, he is undoubtedly India's greatest bowler, one definitely needs to start questioning this 'pick and choose' philosophy. And he is quite young, he ain't 37/38.

I agree with you. Maybe give Easwaran a try if Nair fails in this one too.
Irrespective,I would give a shot to Easwaran. He was with the team during the Australia tour as well and didn't get a single game. Jaiswal's fluctuating returns aren't helping the side, might as well give Easwaran a free run for the next 2 series.
KN be like : say my name...
Probably not going to help him. As I mentioned above, I would like to see Easwaran open with KLR for the next couple of series.

Genuinely bat Washi there
That's a pretty good point. But India would have to be a tad patient with him there. I would probably have Gill at 3, followed by Washington at 4. Sudharshan can float at 5.

I don't see Jadeja continuing for long and that opens up a spot- hopefully it isn't NTR Reddy.

You really want to remove Jaiswal because of this series? The dude who's been our best batter since his debut?

I guess India deserves all the losses they are getting with fans like these.

Tbh I would like to give him a rest, tell him his position is safe unless his replacement hits centuries in every innings.

He is inconsistent and that for an opening batsman isn't good. He gets out to stupid shots and seems unaware of the match situation. Also, note -flat track bully.

Why not him ? :crying:
Think of him as Reetinder Singh Sodhi/ Vijay Shankar, neither here nor there. Not much to contribute. There has been the ocassional flash of brilliance, but that's about it.

Jaiswal isn't going anywhere. In fact, he will soon be part of the team in all 3 formats. Most teams in the world would kill for a batsman like him.

I am not saying he is going anywhere I rate him highly I am saying ot would be good to not put too much pressure on the youngster amd give them rest here and there.
