Indian players refuse to sign Anti Doping norms

As long as they agree to tests before tours and events there should be no problem. Its ludicrous to ask them to be subjected to random tests when they are in off season and doing god knows what all over the world.

As long as they are tested, there should be no problem.

Also for security reasons why will Sachin want to reveal where he will be. He is on hit list of Let. And Let is like Al-Quida for India.
This is another moot argument, one which was never cited as a concern by any other sportsman in any other sport, many of which are far more high profile than cricket, as it would simply not be taken seriously and/or laughed out. Sachin wouldn't be giving out his "whereabouts" to the world, but only to his governing body, just as he would give such information to his security entourage or agent; it is far more secure than going to a cricket match, which is for example, a far more public experience. If security is such a major issue, then they should just stop going to matches, stop going to restaurants, retire and just stay at home instead.

Fluroescent is 100& right, Scid, completely spot on. I doubt very highly they will leak any information regarding Sachin's whereabouts to anyone that could cause a danger to him.

Why are they complaining? This happens in all the sports in America. Hell some players even get tested twice in a week randomly. It happens in American Football, Baseball, Basketball then why not Cricket? This can only have positives for Cricket. I don't see why they are objecting so much. Suck it up and just take a piss in the cup...

See, the biggest issue is the ridiculousness of having to make a schedule of where you are going to be 3 months from now every single day.

Secondly, it is a security risk for the subcontinental players, because if this does get leaked, which it seems like it can get leaked easily, then it can create huge problems for the players. However, this can easily be fixed, so it is a non-issue.

I mean honestly, say you have written down that you will be at home at 8 PM, but you decide to go out for dinner for a couple of hours.

Who the hell is going to SMS WADA and tell them they are going to go eat dinner now. That's a joke to be honest.

It depends on how much information they want - city-specific information (I'll be in London from July 20 to August 15) or a specific place, like the Marriott Hotel in London in my hotel room.

City-specific information is reasonable, because even if you are not at home or in the hotel room, you should be able to still meet the WADA representative and give him the test.

I think the BCCI are recommending the ICC to chuck out WADA and create their own cricket specific anti-doping code. The disadvantage with this is, ICC cant participate in the Olympics and other international sporting events where they are trying to market cricket as a global game.

Its a tricky period. But I wish the BCCI doesnt back down.

Cricketers travel 70% of the time in a year. If WADA wants to do testing then ask the board where its players are playing as they know it. Why the hell stick to 3 month mumbo jumbo.

Athletes have to sign this because they have no option and hardly play like cricketers.

And I dont think Kobe Bryant or Bolt or Nadal or Woods are on hit list of terrorists.

I'm busy with an essay at the moment so could someone quickly bullet-point the reason's for this arguement.

I'm probably way of the mark here but is it the Indian cricketers not wanting to be drug tested every three months because they're scared of being found on their days of?

Well its not cricketers, FIFA and even best Tennis players opposed it.

There is a clause in document which says "Players will have to pin point the place they will be found between 6 AM to 11 PM during a day for next 3 months".

Now who on earth knows where he will be in three months. If my company decides to transfer me then probably I will be with you in Kiwiland playing cricket next week.

So once a day every three months a player has to tell them where they will be during that day, whats the big fuss over that. From what I've read about it you can change it if you need to, is that right?

Can you draw your activity chart for next 3 months and send it to your School principle or College Dean?

Also change it everyday and everytime you deviate from it.

I have a school exam in about three months, I know that and I plan around it. Pretty weak excuse Tbh.

You want players need to carry their plan given to WADA in pockets. :laugh
