Hey, If I was to upgrade to Windows Vista, would I have all my programs from my previous XP? Like all my music and My Docs and games? Or will I have to put them all onto storage devices and load them up when Vista is installed? Also, is Windows Vista even worth the money? or is the Transformation Pack good enough?

If anyone can help with my a dozen questions, I would be very gratefull!

How? Using discs and stuff? And that means all my installed games would be gone also?

Hmm, I know. The price tag is what's scaring me aye.

Copy paste them to another drive. After installing a new OS, again copy the files backed-up to the original place.

The data on drives other than the one on which windows is installed will remain untouched.

But I only have one drive. C:/ Drive. Then what should I do?

Yeah OK guys, thanks for the help.
When I install the actual OS, can I go back to XP once I have installed Vista?

Serious!? Well then I might aswell get it and if I hate it I'll return it, or sell it:spy

yup, u need to partition your hard disk, use partition magic (but remember, backup important files on an external medium, just in case data loss occurs).
then you can easily install the 2nd OS on the new partition.

If you do choose to install vista without partitioning, it wont be possible to switch back to XP, unless the hard disk is formatted.

So, i would certainly recommend that you partition your disk, and install vista on the 2nd partition. this way, all your data remains intact, and you can easily use XP if you dont seem to like Vista.

PS : Do a search of your audio drivers for vista, because vista DOES have problems with audio drivers. Most of them are unsupported. Before installing, do a hardware assessment (unless ofcourse you are ready to work without sound in Vista ;))

Man, this is harder then I thought! lol I wish I could just shove in a disc, enter my serial and batta bim batta boom I'm done...Vistalized!
