Is the action cam over hyped and problematic?

I am having some real problems playing with the action cam. I am not able to judge the length or the line of some of the balls. Also about no hud thing. Do you guys think that is the real cricket experience. I guess it is much easier to play in the playground than here. I have use to my hand to define the footwork plus the direction in such a less time. So what do you say?

The only issue i have with it is, the aiming marker is quite wide when playing with minimum hud, (and i too can not pick it out the bowlers hand) so the ball could be pitching on anywhere from middle to outside off and swinging either way.
I also think that in test matches the AI bowls too many balls on the stumps, you nearly have to play at every one which isn't the case in real life.
Although i do LOVE the game so much.

I would have thought that was obvious. How are you going to pick up the line and length, let alone the subtle (and not-so-subtle) changes of pace with a such a restricted behind-the-batsman view ?

Well not having the game means nothing is obvious to me and I imagine it is a matter of personal preference.

The only thing I'd say about it is how is it when it comes to playing hooks and pulls?

It's designed to replicate the actual experience of batting and I reckon it probably does a good job, but as I said, I'm not sure about hooks/pulls. From videos I've seen, it's a very good addition to the game.

No HUD sounds like taking it a bit too far - like turning off the bowling reticule.

Plus the fact that most people are saying it gives a very thrilling perspective of the game.

Indeed - and the ability to look round to spot gaps before the delivery is a fantastic touch.

1) Aren't you a 'staff member' ?

2) It certainly isn't a matter of preference as you will find. You won't be able to tell the difference between a number of similar or not-so-similar deliveries.

What it's designed to do and what it actually does are two separate things. It replicates nothing, it's behind the batsman. A first-person view might be something, but even that would have it's problems.

The no HUD is actually a very good innovation, if the controls were a bit more responsive, it would be far better . Do you know where the ball is going to bounce in a real match before that ball has been bowled ?

What's fantastic about it ? You can do that whilst looking at the field placings anyway.

What would being a staff member have to do with it?

Does it not imply a level of seniority on these boards and hence a likelihood that one might have got the game on time ?

1. Would seem obvious to me.
2. I will have to wait and see how it is for me then before passing judgement.

Not really, if he was an admin maybe. But a staff member not really. I think I'm right in saying he doesn't live in the UK, so it would take longer to reach him anyway.
