i am now pretty sure that the file that contains where a batsman will bat is in roster.pak which is in the cricket2004 folder in your 'my documents' folder

it seems to be spread out neatly with names of players "A.Gilchrist" then a whole lot of dots and symbols and letters and numbers then the next name (alphabetical order i think)

according to c2k4 online forum there is a number that willl look like '01' or '02' and they pointed out this in the set of numbers/symbols for tendulkar as it showed '01' coz he opens well in ODIS atleast but there seem to be a lot of numebrs like 01 or 06 or 07 etc so i dunno but i am pretty sure that in there somewhere there is a number that runs through all the names

this is just a start for editors...i am currently trying to find some symbols or numbers that are the same throughout each players data

I made an editor for the 2002 game, and it was easy. I've tried it for this game, but it is VERY, VERY hard. HB studios hace decided against using a simple byte-by-byte thingy for attributes, but instead have used some F ucked-up thing where the data is not organised into 8 bits per time. I tried to find the bytefor the top test score of a batsman by editing a player and seeing the changes to the file, only to find that the value was "hidden" as it was shifted along by 2 bits, so viewing in groups of 8 bits was useless. If anyone understands what I mean, firstly I'll be amazed, but secondly would like any help possible with this.

lol i dun undertsand that roster.pak thing just looks like random numebrs with the players names

Yeah , this lineup problem should be solved immediately.
