I see that we will have to agree to differ on this topic and as I have already said earlier, I'm not condoning their actions but that I can understand why they did what they did.

Fair enough although maybe one day you will. Experience teaches us many things, understanding is one of them.
They obviously didn't, if they did they would have spent the time together.

I accept this, but not to the extent of leaving a child of that age in a hotel room by itself.
How do we know what they did? Maybe that had taken her for meals before but she was sleeping and they saw this as an opportunity to have a meal on their own?
