Madeleine McCann Thread

I see that we will have to agree to differ on this topic and as I have already said earlier, I'm not condoning their actions but that I can understand why they did what they did.

I do sympathise with the parents as they could have just left Madeline at home with a baby-sitter but they wanted a family holiday. I agree, it was a risk and they are at fault but that doesn't matter. What does matter is that Madeline is found and when/if she is found, the parents learn from their mistakes.

They obviously didn't, if they did they would have spent the time together. Why not give the children a kids meal at a family restaurant?

How do we know what they did? Maybe that had taken her for meals before but she was sleeping and they saw this as an opportunity to have a meal on their own?

I accept this, but not to the extent of leaving a child of that age in a hotel room by itself.

We were not privy to their conversation on how they came to that decision. Maybe they were lulled into a false sense of security due to the nature of the complex they were staying at or just fact of being on holiday made them take a risk they normally wouldn't have.

Equally, they may just be very irresponsible people who viewed the children as a chain and were glad to get away from them for a few hours. Like I said we don't know and probably never will.

So if your child is sleeping, that means they are safe?
