You're right, but had we won at Lords things would be different because his only notable score in the series would've been part of the KP partnership that set us up for victory. He had a poor series, but it's not as though his WI series was bad, he was excellent in that series, and had Harmison to cope with! Prior will come good imo, but like most cricketers new to the international game he needs time to amend his bad bits.
Andrew, was talking statistically, the drops of Sachin and laxman cost a combined 80 or so runs, add that to the byes - though with the byes I think he's done well tbh, not many at all have I thought "He should've got that" - the ODIs are big stage for him.
What role is Prior really playing in these ODI's though?
Against WI he didn't really go for all out attack, he played the conditions, something I like players doing, but if Priors up the order is that giving the message that we are going to slog in the Power plays?
Prior's batting should click once in 7 attempts, I imagine.
Give the poor guy a chance is what I say. After the West Indies series he is a hero and now after the India series he is a villan. You have to assess him over a longer period of time than this.

Exactly.
Normally with England ODI crickters comign into the the side, it takes them a long time to get a big score, 7 attempts, one big score, all the rest will be starts, unless he can get on with it.
