Hi i posted about 6 months ago regarding my bowling sadly the camera quality wasn't good enough for you to see the problems. I also got told to rest a few months and hey my back fixed so thanks. I've just turned 15

With a new high quality camera i headed back to the nets yesterday for the first time in months, i managed to get some videos and put them on youtube.
My problem is my very poor run up i must lose tonnes of pace through poor rythem, but i have other that you might be able to identify
I reckon my action is pretty bad but i still generate good pace through a natural fast arm. Also what sort of pace is it?

had a bit of a look at your video, any chance of getting one from behind your run up?

your run up is what is bringing your bowling down, you take lots of short steps, try starting your run with a few shorts steps, with your body on a slight forward lean, building up into longer strides, this will help your power.

from what i could see your bowling action is pretty good, if you feel that all your power is coming from your fast arm, try using your back and legs for power.

i would recommend you watching a few videos of brett lee, and watch his run up and follow through closely.

I'm going to come out with this bluntly to you and say that run up is horrible. If your bowling like that you may aswell just come in off about two paces.

As rvd has said your run up needs to start off with probably a few small spaces and turn into longer strides. This is where you will gather more pace and strength from the ball although not all of it will come from this. It also depends how hard your drive your leading arm down and such other things.

In the second clip from what you say is behind but really infront is that a full length stip cos it doesnt look like it. And that length is incredibly short.

More videos from more angles would be a better help for more feedback. Also talk to manee.

Absolutely nothing constructive to say, tbh, he has an extremely powerful delivery and the run up problem is obvious to all and has probably been repeated hundreds of times.

Nothing constructive? :o Manee what has become of you!

Practice your run up i think.
Without the ball.
Try running until it feels right to deliver a ball, thats the way i do mine when i bowl.
Once you get your run up length right, you can work on the pace of the run up.
